      If you know me well, you are aware that I famously seldom wear pants. I prefer the comfort and flow of dresses or skirts. If I had to label myself, it would be as a dress enthusiast. I adore dresses more than most things. For me, a dress is the perfect article of clothing because I can simply throw it on and be all set. It's the quickest and easiest way for me to feel put-together and look pretty. Wearing a dress gives me a sense of freedom and ease. However, I've noticed that there's one dress brand that has quickly become my favorite: Rixo.

      When I first began my career in fashion, my initial boss would frequently wear Rixo dresses. At that time, I wasn't familiar with the British label, but I recognized that every time she entered the office in a stunning dress featuring a unique pattern, it was likely Rixo. And I was correct. The brand was relatively new then, having launched just a decade ago in 2015, but I became instantly captivated.

      I wore the Annina midi dress in black during a trip to Buenos Aires last November. It’s the ideal vacation dress; I always pack it since I know I’ll wear it multiple times. This exemplifies what I mean by saying that Rixo dresses all carry a vintage feel! It reminds me of many vintage nightgown slips that I search for in secondhand stores on Cape Cod. Although they no longer sell this exact dress, the Amari satin midi is quite similar.

      What attracted me to Rixo dresses initially was their distinctive character and charm that evokes a vintage look. I enjoy shopping for vintage items, but finding the perfect vintage dress can be time-consuming and labor-intensive. Rixo eliminates the guesswork associated with good thrift shopping by providing an array of ready-made options that possess the same retro allure.

      The Evie midi dress is the latest addition to my Rixo collection. I appreciate that the Antelope animal print is just unique enough, and the frills at the hips are an adorable detail. So far, I haven't been able to wear this dress out without someone stopping me to ask where it’s from. The Clarice midi dress in polka dot is among my most frequently worn dresses. Here I am wearing it during a work trip to Barcelona, yet you’d just as likely see me in it while walking my pug in Brooklyn.

      I now own several Rixo dresses. In fact, I own more Rixo dresses than I do of most other things. When I'm in a hurry and have no time to prepare for a dinner with a friend or a work event, I almost always reach for a Rixo dress. Last holiday season, I wore a mini black velvet Rixo dress to at least five Christmas parties. I wear the polka dot Clarice so often that my friends consider it a signature piece of mine. Right now, I’m wearing the Evie midi dress in antelope spot as I write this—and I've donned it multiple times over the last fortnight.

      I've been asked countless times about my Rixo dresses and have received more compliments than I can count. Naturally, I believe everyone should invest in a Rixo dress for the upcoming spring and summer seasons. And yes... I currently have another one in my cart.
