I know we often discuss flat shoes here on Who What Wear, but let's shift gears and focus on a heel trend I've noticed recently. This style features walkable heels (not stilettos or platforms), is visually appealing, and has been spotted on two stylish women: Alexa Chung and Michelle Monaghan.
The trending heels I'm mentioning are ballet pumps adorned with an oversized bow. They have a vintage charm that you'd expect to find in a thrift shop (and you'd snatch them up if they fit). However, this trend has recently been revitalized by the creative director recognized for drawing inspiration from vintage designs: Alessandro Michele. Currently at Valentino, Michele has crafted several pairs of oversized-bow ballet pumps for the brand’s latest collection.
Chung was recently seen wearing a slingback style paired with loose black trousers at Cannes, while Monaghan was photographed in NYC sporting her tan leather ballet pumps with a denim midi skirt and a red tank top.
