Angela Vranich, co-founder and chief product officer of Little Spoon, has completely transformed children’s nutrition. With a sharp intuition for discovering untapped markets, Vranich's path in the food sector has not been straightforward. While pursuing a business degree in college, she not only focused on academics but also launched a nationwide organic food marketing firm during her spare time. Her enthusiasm for organic foods guided her through a post-college phase in television production, which she soon recognized was not her true passion. Returning to her roots, she moved to San Francisco to be with her then-boyfriend (now husband and Little Spoon co-founder), who managed an organic food distribution business. This led her back into the realm of fresh, sustainable nutrition where she identified a significant gap: baby food.

In the mid-2010s, fresh, organic products were thriving—gourmet versions of juices, salsas, and even pet food were emerging. However, the baby food aisle remained unchanged, filled with shelf-stable jars that had been around for decades. Vranich saw an opportunity to shake up this stagnant sector by introducing fresh-cooked, organic baby food designed for modern families. In 2017, she co-founded Little Spoon, a direct-to-consumer brand that provides nutritious, carefully designed meals for babies and children.

The initial reception was astounding. Little Spoon sold a million meals in its first year, demonstrating that parents were eager for healthier, more convenient options. Since then, the brand has broadened its offerings beyond baby food to include meals for children up to age 10, featuring everything from nutrient-rich purees to kid-friendly dishes. With over 35 million meals delivered, Little Spoon has become a well-known name, combining scientifically backed nutrition with flavors that children enjoy.
