      If there's one item I can't resist during the summer, it's tinted SPF. We all understand the importance of daily SPF application (yes, even when it's cloudy), and tinted SPF is fantastic because it merges facial sunscreen with a light, radiant makeup base. Let's be honest, none of us want to apply heavy foundation in warmer weather, making tinted SPF the ideal substitute. Additionally, it simplifies your makeup routine, making it a perfect choice for upcoming vacations. As you can tell, I'm a huge fan of this product. So, you can imagine my excitement a couple of months ago when I logged into work to find an email with the subject line "Merit's First Tinted SPF." If you've been following my articles for a while, you know I use my Merit Beauty products every day. This brand truly embodies the minimalist beauty philosophy, offering essentials that allow you to achieve a glowing makeup look in ten minutes or less. While Merit already has some complexion products, it has just unveiled its very first tinted SPF. Even though it launched today, it has already created quite a buzz. In fact, there was a waiting list of over 20,000 people, so it's safe to say it's likely to sell out.       **The Formula**

      First and foremost, it's essential to understand that this is not merely a base product containing SPF—it's an SPF that also serves as a base product. Its primary function is as a sunscreen, and achieving the right formula for SPF can be quite challenging. As a beauty editor, I appreciate having a formula I want to wear daily, as it makes skin protection much easier. After testing Merit’s newest product, I can confidently say this formula is a perfect 10.

      The standout aspect is that this is a mineral sunscreen. It utilizes mineral zinc oxide to create a physical barrier protecting against UVA and UVB rays. It features a sheer tint that provides that "my skin but better" look and comes in 15 different shades to accommodate a wide array of skin tones—something quite rare for tinted SPFs.

      It's already sounding impressive, but the highlight for me is how lightweight this SPF feels. Many of us have had unfortunate experiences with greasy, oily SPFs in the past, but this oil-free, silicone-free, and non-comedogenic formula is feather-light. In fact, it's so light you might forget you're wearing anything on your face. It strikes the perfect balance between a matte and glowy base, featuring fine natural powders that smooth and blur the complexion for a soft-focus finish that I absolutely adore.

      **The Application**

      As you might expect, applying this product is incredibly straightforward. The lightweight formula nearly melts into the skin and blends effortlessly for that second-skin effect. I’ve applied it with both my hands and a foundation brush, and both methods yield a natural, luminous base.

      As with any SPF products, reapplication throughout the day is crucial. The brand suggests reapplying every two hours or after engaging in physical activity or swimming. When I’m using only this product, I find reapplication simple. However, when I have other makeup on, my skin can feel a bit cakey post-reapplication, so I recommend investing in a quality SPF spray instead. It's vital to ensure you’re using enough SPF for adequate protection. Don’t hesitate to apply this product liberally to ensure it performs effectively.

      You can probably guess by now, but I am absolutely in love with this tinted SPF. Merit products never let me down, and the brand has truly excelled with this new launch. I never realized SPF could feel and look this great, and I will definitely be using this product daily.
