I recognize that we often discuss flat shoes here on Who What Wear, but let's shift gears and focus on a heel trend I've noticed recently. This style features walkable heels (as opposed to stilettos or platforms), and they're quite attractive, especially since two stylish women, Alexa Chung and Michelle Monaghan, have sported them. The trend in question is ballet pumps adorned with an oversized bow. They have a vintage vibe, reminiscent of something you'd find in a thrift store (and you'd snag them if they happen to fit). However, this trend has gained renewed attention thanks to Alessandro Michele, the creative director known for drawing inspiration from vintage designers. At present, Michele oversees Valentino and has created several pairs of oversized-bow ballet pumps for the brand's latest collection.
Chung was seen in Cannes wearing a slingback version paired with loose black trousers, while Monaghan was spotted in New York City in her tan leather ballet pumps, styled with a denim midi skirt and a red tank top. It's clear that these vintage-inspired heels look fantastic with both outfits.
