I visited Seoul, Miami, and Chicago this month—here’s a rundown of everything I wore during my travels.

      It has been a hectic month. The first weekend of May, I packed my Tumi carry-on and flew to Miami for four nights to attend the F1 Miami Grand Prix. Just ten days later, my larger Tumi checked bag was put to use for another four nights away from New York City, this time in Seoul, South Korea. Five days after that, I gathered a few essentials, a wedding guest dress, and heels into a duffel bag and traveled to Chicago for a wedding over Memorial Day weekend. All this means I accumulated an unusually high number of airline miles in May and wore a multitude of outfits. Consequently, I decided to share my insights on packing based on my experiences.       Travel Outfits

      It's clear that I spend a lot of time at the airport, which means I've made plenty of mistakes regarding travel outfits. I've worn jeans that are restrictive on a five-hour flight, forgotten socks and had to walk barefoot through security, and selected pieces that wrinkle easily for in-flight wear. Air travel is stressful enough, with long lines, delays, and the whole "flying" experience. Avoiding a poor outfit can significantly enhance your travel-day mood and mindset. My answer? Wear essentially the same outfit when I travel. For all my trips in May, whether involving a two-hour flight or a 16-hour one, I opted for the same pair of Veynd yoga pants, an oversized white T-shirt (from Madewell, Agolde, or Citizens of Humanity), and my go-to brown car coat from Fforme. My footwear typically consists of sneakers, whichever pair I intend to use for workouts during the trip, and my bags are almost always a Tumi aluminum suitcase paired with a spacious tote bag from either Longchamp or COS. This combination has yet to let me down.

      Packing Tip 1: Embrace Packing Cubes

      I once thought packing cubes were a gimmick—something promoted by travel influencers that didn’t truly deliver. I was mistaken. They make a significant difference, especially when you're traveling for an extended period with just a carry-on suitcase.

      What to Pack for Miami

      Packing for Miami can be challenging. At this time of year, it tends to be extremely hot and humid, so lightweight fabrics are essential. However, spring also brings the likelihood of rain, so it's wise to not pack only white poplin and linen garments, which may get muddy or become sheer if wet. The city is lively and colorful, making it perfect for flaunting bold wardrobe items. Furthermore, if you're attending the Grand Prix, regardless of whether you're in the Paddock Club or have general admission, consider bag requirements and prioritize comfortable shoes.

      Though I don't advise packing just white poplin for a spring trip to Miami, that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be included at all. In fact, a white poplin dress like this one from Tibi is an excellent choice for a hot, humid Florida day, especially at the track where you're exposed to the sun for long stretches. I've never received more inquiries about a clothing item than when I wore this dress at the racetrack. The eco poplin material is advantageous since it wrinkles less than regular poplin and doesn't show sweat as noticeably. The back is adjustable, completely open, and it has pockets.

      When I learned I would be dining at Sexy Fish in Miami, I instantly knew the perfect dress to bring for the first night. Those who have visited the restaurant will agree that it's essentially the dress equivalent of the well-known ladies’ room—both are pink and iridescent. The dress, a hot-pink version of Tory Burch’s popular yellow dress from the S/S 23 collection, is quickly becoming a favorite among fashion enthusiasts this season and has already sold out in various sizes.       Unless you are in Monaco, where qualifying day is key during race weekend, it’s advisable to save your best outfit for race day. Thus, I opted to wear this Tory Burch S/S 25 runway bodysuit on the Sunday of my Miami trip. Its swimsuit-like material suited the warm, humid day at the track, and the flame print on the pants felt appropriate for racing.
