As someone who typically avoids color and prints in my wardrobe, I'm not usually the type to be found in line to purchase a floral dress for summer. I’ll admit that I tend to lean towards more minimalist designs, such as white cotton or black linen dresses. I might consider gingham if it comes in neutral tones, but that’s about as adventurous as I get. That said, I certainly don’t have anything against floral dresses. On the contrary, I find them timeless, dependable, and truly beautiful. I’ve always admired those who can effortlessly wear stunning floral dresses. While it might not be considered "revolutionary," being able to don such an adorable style with ease (without feeling like I’m back in elementary school, which is a completely unfounded concern as a petite individual) is a valuable advantage for summer.
This summer, I’ve decided to rethink my position on florals. I've been exploring the new summer collections (for research purposes, of course) and discovered many lovely, sophisticated floral dresses that I am eager to try. I even succumbed and purchased a beautiful dress from Dôen the other day to gauge my feelings about it. And guess what? It has completely won me over! Green! Florals! My minimalist preferences were on the verge of undermining my decision, but I couldn’t find anything wrong with it. What I appreciate most about it, which I believe many floral dresses excel at, is its incredible versatility. You can pair it with simple leather sandals for the school run, for a beach day, or out for lunch—add some heels and a touch of makeup, and it can take you to any upscale summer event. Pure joy!
