All the Eye-Catching Elements of Anna Lambe's Grunge-and-Glam Style at the Gotham Awards

It didn’t take long for the Netflix series *North of North* to capture the hearts of viewers. A delightful mix of charm and humor—imagine *Schitt’s Creek* meets *Parks and Recreation*—the comedy focuses on a close-knit community in a remote village in Canada's Arctic and a young Inuk woman named Siaja, who is trying to rebuild her life after her divorce. This uplifting tale explores love and self-discovery, featuring incredibly endearing characters and plenty of laughs throughout. After its spring debut, the show quickly garnered a second-season renewal as well as a nomination for the Gotham Television Awards for its star, Anna Lambe. Already recognized in Canada for her roles in *The Grizzlies* and CBC's *Trickster*, Lambe is establishing herself as a rising star in the U.S. It's worth mentioning that she also shared the screen with Jodie Foster in HBO's *True Detective*. Growing up in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Lambe is a passionate advocate for Indigenous rights, utilizing her platform to raise awareness about critical issues impacting her community while also promoting Indigenous voices and talents.

At the Gotham TV Awards on Monday night, Lambe proudly celebrated her heritage by wearing a gown designed by Lesley Hampton, a First Nations Canadian designer based in Toronto. The striking silver-and-black brocade gown with a draped skirt from the designer's Obsidian collection made a significant impression on the red carpet. She accessorized the look with jewels from Courage My Love and Greg Morgan, a Marc Jacobs handbag, and cherry red Steve Madden heels, complemented by a bold red lip. While dealing with pre-show jitters and enjoying a bit of room service, the actress shared her experience of getting ready for her first American award ceremony.

“Creating this look for the Gothams combined everything I adore—edginess, sophistication, playful shapes and silhouettes, along with a splash of color.”

“Every aspect of this ensemble was a deliberate choice—Lesley Hampton's dress from her Obsidian collection; the vibrant red heels; a dark, dramatic eye; sleek, spiky hair; a red lip; and my signature everyday jewelry. The key for me in crafting this look was selecting items that I find enjoyable and intriguing while also feeling authentically 'me.'”

“I met Wesley [O'Meara] (hairstylist) and Tina [Turnbow] (makeup artist) during my first American press tour a few months back. I enjoy having a fun conversation during glam sessions, and they are both so engaging and interesting. It felt natural to have them help me prepare for my first American award show as a nominee!”

“Creating glam looks with this team is such a blast. I send them my inspiration photos, and they not only grasp the concept—they achieve A+ results with extra credit!”

“The pre-show anxiety is real! Everything seems calm until you recall that the event you’ve been anticipating for weeks is about to occur. A great conversation and some silliness beforehand definitely help alleviate the pressure. It keeps me grounded and allows me to appreciate the experience a bit more.”

“Traveling for work and exploring new hotels and places is such a joy. I definitely act a bit fancy when ordering room service or charging meals to my room as long as it's covered by a per diem—lol.”

“A big shout-out to my agent Candace for being amazing and helping me get this dress fitting perfectly. It took about ten minutes and some adjustments, but it was absolutely worth it. We love women supporting each other.”

“This moment was when the nerves really started to kick in before the show. We had just run into Saagar Shaikh (who was nominated in the same category!), his wife Wajiha, and Poorna Jagannathan in the hotel hallway, and it hit me that it was all actually happening!”

“Gathering composure despite the nerves to focus and shine.”

“On a serious note, I feel incredibly fortunate to have been nominated at the 2025 Television Gothams, having attended the event with my wonderful agent Candace, reconnecting with Wesley and Tina, and meeting Orion, the photographer for this photo series. The glam is one of my favorite parts of events like these, as it allows me to connect with others and indulge in some dress-up. I had a lovely time and hope there may be an opportunity to experience it again in the future.”
