I just returned from Miami Swim Week, wearing my Gimaguas x Havaianas sandals to every show, and every editor on the trip noticed them right away. The collaboration went viral on TikTok as soon as it was unveiled, and since they aren’t available for purchase yet, people have begun creating DIY versions using pushpins and Old Navy flip-flops. Even before this surge in popularity (and before Kylie Jenner wore them), Gimaguas was already a beloved brand among me and my friends. If you enjoy Paloma Wool, you might have explored similar labels with a comparable aesthetic. That’s how I discovered Gimaguas a few years ago. Its style is minimalist yet playful, similar to PW’s more vibrant, beach-inspired sibling. The brand name means "twins" in Spanish and was founded by twin sisters Claudia and Sayana Durany in 2018. Everything is crafted in Spain by artisans, giving the clothes a unique, special feel. While the flip-flops aren’t commercially available right now, you can still shop the rest of the collection on the brand’s website, as well as on Ssense and Shopbop.
