I visited Barcelona—Here Are 6 Ways Women Are Wearing Denim More Stylishly Than in New York.

      (Image credit: Courtesy of Levi's) Recently, I attended Primavera Sound in Barcelona, a music festival I had always dreamed of experiencing. I expected it to differ from Coachella in California and Gov Ball in New York, but I had no idea just how distinct it would be until I arrived.

      Firstly, the venue is incredible. It takes place by the water in Barcelona, offering stunning seaside views and a refreshing breeze as you enjoy the music. I'm used to spending hours in the scorching heat, often with muddy feet from rain in New York or sand in my eyes from the dusty winds in California. In comparison, Primavera felt like a true getaway—a destination I would eagerly include on my travel list solely for the atmosphere.

      The scheduling was also different; most major artists don’t perform until midnight and go on well past six in the morning. I have always thought music festivals test one’s endurance, but this was on a whole new level. However, being in Spain and identifying as Spanish, I fully embraced the culture and accepted that I would be going to bed at 5 AM. It was the most enjoyable time I’ve had in weeks.

      Finally, let’s talk about fashion. There’s a lot of talk about Coachella's festival style and how it can be contrived or that it peaked in the 2010s (which I, as a Tumblr enthusiast, somewhat agree with), but in my opinion, it pales in comparison to Primavera Sound. There seems to be a certain effortlessness in what attendees wear, perhaps because most are dressing for a festival experience before the sun reaches its peak. There's also a greater emphasis on comfort. It truly feels like everyone is there to enjoy the experience and the music, rather than just to appear fashionable, which is reflected in how they accessorize—practicality is key.

      As someone who typically doesn’t wear much denim, but found a soft spot for Levi's shorts while preparing for the festival, I was amazed by how Primavera Sound attendees styled their denim. Here are six insights I gained that will forever change my perspective on jeans.

They’re simple yet effective for showing some skin and achieving a nice tan without overdoing it. In summer, I often avoid jeans as they feel too constrictive, which is where the tube top shines! I also loved how it was paired with a chunky studded belt and platform loafers.
