5 Key Jewelry Trends That Will Shape 2025
For the first time, I attended the Couture Jewelry Show in Las Vegas, a premier event for fine jewelry and timepieces that gathers top designers from around the globe. It provided an opportunity to connect with designers, ranging from established houses to emerging brands, and to explore their latest creations all in one location. I spent two days visiting various booths to discover the newest designs from jewelry brands and left with some insights on key trends and must-know pieces before they become widespread.
One immediate observation was the prevalence of color and playful elements. Many designs exuded a sense of whimsy, whether through shells adorned with diamonds or pieces featuring vibrant gemstones. Another recurring topic in discussions was the rising price of gold, which has influenced the materials used by designers, leading to an increase in alternative materials like wood and leather cords. Below are the five major trends from the Couture Jewelry Show in Las Vegas, along with my curated selection of the best pieces to embrace each trend.
**Gemstone Chokers**
The choker necklace is experiencing a revival in a new form, featuring gemstone pendants. These pieces vary widely, from diamond chains at Anita Ko to leather cords at Beck, and encompass both fine and high jewelry.
**From the Sea**
Seaside themes were a prominent motif, showcased in various ways, particularly through the use of shells. At Jenna Blake, colorful shells were set with pink sapphires, while Dezso by Sara Beltran presented shells adorned with diamonds.
**Cocktail Rings**
Is the cocktail ring making a comeback? The signs certainly suggest so. Not only were these rings a consistent feature in jewelry displays, but they were also commonly worn by designers and public relations representatives themselves. Especially notable are the designs from Beck and Jade Ruzzo, featuring graduated ridges.
**Alternative Materials**
Due to the increasing cost of gold, many designers noted that this has impacted their recent collections, resulting in a greater use of alternative materials. This shift has led to the incorporation of leather and nylon cords, wood, and various non-gold metals.
**Color Story**
Let the colors shine! From soft blue pastels at Tabayer to striking, saturated hues at Emily P. Wheeler, designers embraced stunning, colorful pieces.
