Here's What Fashion Enthusiasts Are Currently Pairing with the Accessory Trend That Everyone Was Previously Wearing with Jeans.
Since the launch of Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter, I've noticed a surge of cowboy hats, boots, chaps, and fringe on Instagram, at themed gatherings, and, of course, during Bey's concerts. I've also seen people sporting large buckle belts with traditional blue jeans, but with the weather being too warm for jeans most days, it can require a bit more creativity to spice up an outfit. Instead, fashion enthusiasts are now pairing belts with dresses as an easy way to add depth to their looks. Singer and actress Kelly Rowland showcased this trend in Paris at a Cowboy Carter concert, wearing an orange dress styled with a large Western-style buckle belt over it.
I anticipated that belts would become trendy after spotting them on the S/S 2025 runways of Schiaparelli, Miu Miu, and Vaquera. Some were worn doubled or layered with other belts, while others served as a striking addition over simple dresses, like Rowland’s. Other celebrities and influencers are taking notice and styling their summer dresses with belts as well. We love a runway-to-real-life transition. If you’re tired of just throwing on any outfit to stay cool in the heat, keep scrolling for style inspiration and to shop fashionable belts to pair with your dresses this summer (both Western and otherwise).

On Julianne Hough: Christian Dior dress. This outfit was understated, but the belt added the perfect touch of texture and dimension.
On Molly Gordon: Chanel dress and belt. At a Chanel event, Molly opted for a simple strapless dress, and her Chanel buckle belt was the ideal finishing touch.
On Sydney Sweeney: Miu Miu dress and Arcadie Matelassé Nappa Leather Mini Bag ($2550). Sydney's belt was a stylish complement to her Miu Miu dress for a London event.
On Leslie Bibb: Michael Kors dress. A belt paired with a low-cut, asymmetrical dress—floral or not—is incredibly chic. Leslie Bibb nailed it while out in NYC.
