The Fashion Editor’s Guide to Summer in Paris: The Most Talked-About Locations and Outfit Ideas for Visiting Them
Paris is a destination that I've frequented for years, whether for personal vacations or business trips, and I have a list of essential places to visit whenever I'm there. This season, I traveled to Paris for an early summer visit to experience the French Open for the first time, in addition to stopping by some of my beloved restaurants, shops, and sites, as well as some trendy new locations on my list, such as 1 Place Vendôme and Le Grand Café. My packing strategy for this summer trip involved only bringing items that would fit in my carry-on bags, so I incorporated some key pieces from my wardrobe. I also left extra space for new acquisitions I made during my stay, including a ribbed Lacoste polo shirt and linen shorts from Massimo Dutti. Below, you'll find my fashion-editor guide to summer in Paris, featuring the places I visited and everything I wore.
Where to Stay
1 Place Vendôme
I arrived in Paris after a red-eye flight from New York and headed directly to the stunning 1 Place Vendôme, a hotel owned by the Chopard family situated in the heart of the city. The hotel is located above the Chopard flagship jewelry store, and true to its name, it overlooks the iconic Place Vendôme. The cozy ambiance feels more like a private townhouse than a hotel, with every detail thoughtfully curated, including a library with books selected by the owners, a private bar and restaurant, and a gym and sauna on the top floor. Each suite and room has its distinct concept. I stayed in the Emerald Suite, which featured a calming palette of greens and creams. It radiated luxury while also feeling warm and comfortable. Just a short walk from some of the finest shopping, as well as the Louvre and Tuileries, it’s an ideal location for a trip to Paris.
Where to Go
The French Open
The French Open, or Roland-Garros, is one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments worldwide. It takes place in Paris and is renowned for its clay court matches. This year, I had the chance to attend for the first time as a guest of Lacoste, one of the tournament's long-time sponsors. I organized my trip to coincide with the French Open, and it was unforgettable to witness Novak Djokovic play an evening match and experience this remarkable event—one of the best sporting experiences I’ve ever had.
Le Grand Café
The hottest new restaurant in Paris? Le Grand Café—the sister establishment of Loulou, a staple among the fashion crowd. With nearly impossible-to-get reservations, I had my booking notifications activated and finally secured a last-minute lunch. This beautiful venue is situated at the Grand Palais and boasts brasserie-style designs by Joseph Dirand. It's a place you shouldn't miss on your next trip to Paris, assuming you can get a reservation.
LouLou
Speaking of LouLou, I always make it a point to visit this restaurant whenever I’m in Paris. Typically, I visit in the fall or winter, so this was my first experience dining outside on the terrace with views of the Eiffel Tower and Tuileries, which I highly suggest during the warmer months. I usually order the tuna carpaccio and artichoke salad.
Bourse de Commerce
Opened in 2021, the Bourse de Commerce is one of my favorite newer art venues, which I recommend if you've already explored other iconic museums like the Louvre. It showcases works from the Pinault collection, highlighting contemporary artists such as Cy Twombly, Cindy Sherman, and Damien Hirst. I also frequently visit places like the Musée d'Orsay, Musée de l'Orangerie, and Musée Rodin.
For the French Open, I chose to wear a Lacoste ribbed navy polo shirt, linen shorts from Massimo Dutti, and my trusted Triomphe sunglasses from Celine.

A Posse linen minidress and Chanel slingbacks took me from breakfast at 1 Place Vendôme to exploring the city extensively.
Jeans are my everyday go-to, and I always rely on Levi's for its classic straight-leg styles. This summer, I've been wearing white washes, pairing them with a Flore Flore tank top and a Nili Lotan belt.

My essentials for packing in Paris also encompass versatile wardrobe staples, including a HommeGirls poplin button-down, Khaite's Danielle Jeans, a Nili Lotan blazer, and accessories from Ralph Lauren.
