As a British Fashion Editor residing in Paris, here's my complete summer wish list.

SS25 is brimming with inspiration, vibrant colors, and fashion is capturing attention more than ever. This month has seen significant changes in the industry, including Anna Wintour's unexpected exit, our Editor in Chief Hannah Almassi's announcement of her new directorial role (congratulations, Hannah!), Jonathan Anderson's debut at Dior, and the remarkable success of Paris Fashion Week's Menswear Edition. A major highlight was Huron, Willie Chavarria's impressive and bold show, showcasing the blend of politics and fashion. As Paris Men's Fashion Week wraps up, independent womenswear brands are gathering in the city for the buying season to secure new clients and showcase new collections and timeless classics to industry experts, welcoming Editors and fashion insiders. Promoting independent brands is the foundation of my work, and this season I encountered Marlie's Grace—a lively brand grounded in vintage-inspired design, merging classic lines with playful styles, along with a favorite at Who What Wear, Manu Atelier, whose Le Cambon design has brought the belted bag silhouette into the spotlight. And in the spirit of fashion and reality, I am currently enduring a 37-degree heatwave dressed in my boyfriend's clothes, having realized that my own wardrobe isn’t cooperating. It's truly the ideal moment to assess my summer wish list and the items I’d love to add (think: linen, cotton, and more linen). Keep reading to explore the pieces I'm longing for this month and the reasons why. Please bear with me while I cool off. Avalon Afriyie dons the Ilride dress by Faithfull.
Shop My Edit of What I’m Loving This Month:
1. Tops and Outerwear:
I spotted this charming vest on fellow Who What Wear columnist Monikh and haven't stopped thinking about it since. With a wardrobe built around refined silhouettes and muted color palettes (though I'm trying to incorporate some color thanks to Faithfull), I usually gravitate toward unique shapes to refresh my capsule wardrobe. This piece is particularly special as it’s made from 100% linen, often found in straight-cut columns. I'd pair this top with the matching Syna wide-leg trousers, heeled sandals (similar to those featured), and bold earrings.
Speaking of elevated essentials, Black to Grey's Iphi top has a slash neckline and lightweight fabric with a hint of yellow undertone. It’s far more intriguing than the typical crew neck t-shirt.
ALIGNE
Daphne Scoop Neck Linen Blazer
Living most of my life in the Northern Hemisphere has made me accustomed to weather changes (I'm the Brit who always carries an umbrella), so even on the hottest days, I consider outerwear. Aligne's Scooped Neck Blazer is a great choice for the season as it is made of linen. For styling, I’d suggest adding capri pants and elegant heels for a polished look.
2. Dresses
Vince
Handkerchief-Stripe Wrap Dress
I’ve dubbed 2025 the year of the mini. Having avoided this style throughout my twenties, I'm now embracing shrunk versions as I enter my mid-thirties. I was instantly attracted to this Vince Handkerchief dress due to its minimalist aesthetic, accented by a bold touch of red and playful tie details.
Arkitaip
The Frances Bandeau Dress in black
From evening gatherings to warm summer days, Arkitaip's recent release is perfect for numerous occasions. It’s the kind of dress you invest in now and keep for life.
Reformation
Jessi Linen Dress
After studying flattering red shades for my skin tone for quite some time, I’ve determined that this exact hue is exceptionally elegant. It has been tempting me (a lover of neutral apparel) as seen in the featured image.
3. Skirts & Trousers
I currently lack knee-length midi skirts, and I've concluded that a polka-dot pattern is exactly what I need (more specifically, tiny dots as they feel more modern). Polka dots are a standout pattern this season, and while trend-driven designs are emerging rapidly in response to the runway, I see this style as a worthy investment for its versatility and timeless appeal. I'm particularly excited about the styling options this piece presents, from daytime outfits to elevated evening wear.
DISSH
Tropez Cornflower Ramie Sarong
With the holiday season upon us, I've focused on convertible fabrics, and this sarong is enticing thanks to its lightweight rayon material and soft blue color. I'm familiar with wearing styles like this in the heat. Growing up in a British-African household, we're known for turning squares of fabric into halterneck dresses, skirts, and tops!
THE PARK
Joy Layered Stretch-Tencel™ Lyocell Jersey Leggings
The Park is emerging as a celebrated brand this season for its refined, high-quality pieces designed to stand the test of time, now easily available on Net A Porter. Note the skirt overlay, sure to refresh your A/W wardrobe.
