Low-rise jeans and ballet flats appear outdated when compared to the current trend of jeans paired with sneakers.
I know it's already mid-July, and jeans might not be at the forefront of your mind, but celebrities are still sporting them despite the warm weather. Plus, fall will arrive sooner than we think, so let’s discuss jeans. I'm always intrigued when fashion-forward celebrities wear similar items within just a few days, as it often signifies a trend emerging. This time, the focus is on a particular jeans-and-sneaker pairing that Dakota Johnson and Natalie Portman have recently been seen in.
If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that for the past year or so, low-rise baggy jeans paired with ballet flats have been the go-to ensemble for celebrities and others alike. However, that combination is starting to feel a bit overplayed, and it seems Johnson and Portman are hinting that high-rise baggy jeans and chunky sneakers could be the new trend. Each of them styled their outfits with a cropped tee and sunglasses, with Johnson incorporating a velvet kimono-style jacket. The finalized looks were not only stylish but also carried a hint of '90s inspiration, offering a refreshing alternative to low-rise baggy jeans and ballet flats.
