My Curly Girl Hair Routine Achieved Its Full Potential Once I Found These Essential French Products.
Finding the ideal shampoo and conditioner for my hair has not been an easy task. In the past, I used to style my hair with heat almost every day, which changed the texture of my naturally curly hair so much that when I finally stopped, I thought my curls were less defined than they truly are. Initially, during my journey to embrace my natural hair, I concluded that I had 3c curls, but as my hair grew back to its natural state, I discovered that my curls were more accurately classified as 4a. Although it may seem like a minor distinction, the textures are not as alike as one might assume. The shampoo and conditioner I was using for type 3 hair no longer felt sufficient (much to my disappointment), prompting me to reconsider my choices. I experimented with various options and often felt disappointed until I came across a recent launch from the French brand Phyto, which provided excellent products for curly hair. While the brand has a collection for curls, it is primarily aimed at curl types 2a to 3a (more akin to waves). This new collection, the Curls Intense Range, is specifically designed for curl types 3b to 4c. I always check for coconut oil in new products before trying them because, in the past, it was the hidden culprit that left my low-porosity hair extremely dry. I was thrilled to find that this collection is free of coconut oil. If you have a similar hair type and appreciate French beauty products, you’ll want to keep reading. I’m sharing my thoughts on Phyto Paris's new curl collection below.

Intense Curls Nourishment Shampoo
Finding a shampoo for type 4 hair can be quite challenging. I’ve noticed that many shampoos geared towards curlier hair tend to prioritize hydration over actual cleansing. I won’t sugarcoat it; this shampoo is a light cleanser that sometimes borders on not being cleansing enough, but I still genuinely like it, as it never leaves my hair feeling dry. You might find it helpful to use a scalp exfoliant once or twice a week with it to prevent excess buildup (I personally enjoy Drunk Elephant's T.L.C. Happi Scalp Scrub), but it’s a solid hydrating shampoo that could even work for daily use if you require additional cleansing.

Intense Curls Nourishment Mask
This nourishing mask is where the real magic happens. It can be frustrating to find curl products that don’t contain coconut oil, but thankfully, this is one of those rare finds. It’s also free from silicone, another ingredient that can be detrimental for curly hair types. The mask is filled with excellent moisturizers like shea butter, white mallow extract, castor oil, and sunflower seed oil. After just one application, my curls felt incredibly soft and hydrated with lasting shine. Typically, I can evaluate a collection after using it once or twice to see how my hair responds, and I was thoroughly impressed after my first use of this mask. It is on the heavier side, so keep that in mind if you have fine hair, but if you have thick, curly, low-porosity hair like mine, this will be a game-changer. The hydration lasts quite a while; even the next day when I took my hair out of its wrap, my curls remained soft with great definition and moisture.

Intense Curls Definition Rich Cream
For added hydration, I apply this rich curl-defining cream next, as it truly seals everything in for me. My hair tends to be extremely dry, so I condition it daily to maintain its health and use a leave-in cream on top. This combination is truly ideal. Yes, it’s very hydrating, so those with finer hair may want to use it sparingly, but if you have constantly dry hair like I do, believe me, it’s a holy grail product. I’m so relieved to have found a brand and product line that genuinely understands curly and coily hair types. I’ve tried almost every curly hair collection available, and I can still only count on one hand how many I really love, as many brands include coconut oil in their formulas. While that may work well for finer hair types or those that aren't low-porosity, this range feels inclusive and appears to have considered every curl type. Major kudos to Phyto for that!

Intense Curls Anti-Frizz Gel
Gels can be rather hit or miss for me since some leave my curls feeling dry the following day, but this one is infused with hydrating ingredients like aloe, which prevents that crunchy or brittle sensation. It provides a lot of definition and shine without weighing the curls down. I enjoy using this on nights when
