This celebrity makeup artist has created many of my saved makeup looks—and now he’s launched his own product line.

      As a beauty editor, I maintain an ongoing folder filled with my favorite makeup looks for future inspiration. While this isn't exactly a secret—many of you likely do something similar—I want to share where most of my saved looks originate. I have numerous favorites saved from influencers on TikTok, but no one fills my saved folder quite like celebrity makeup artist Hung Vanngo. In my opinion, Vanngo is somewhat of an industry gem, but that won’t last for long. He recently launched his eponymous beauty brand, and the products are outstanding. Vanngo has collaborated with stars such as Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lawrence, Lindsay Lohan, and Selena Gomez. Honestly, you’ve probably seen at least one of his looks, often without realizing it. Although this launch just happened in September, it has been a long time in the making. “Launching my own line has always been a dream of mine," Vanngo shared with Who What Wear. "I truly love makeup and playing with color. I created Hung Vanngo Beauty to help everyone feel confident and seen. I meticulously developed each product because it was essential to me that they reflect everything I’ve learned over the years—working with different skin tones, textures, and styles." I had the opportunity to try several items from the line, and I was thoroughly impressed. The eye shadow palettes, in particular, deserve special mention. Vanngo was incredibly focused during their creation. "Each palette is centered around a true color story—I aimed for every shade and finish to feel intentional and easy to use. My goal was to create something that merges high artistry with everyday wearability.       I typically gravitate toward warm golden brown eye shadow shades, but using this pink-themed palette was a delightful change for me. Each shade is beautiful and works well with various skin tones. I particularly adored the metallic shades in this palette—they have just the right amount of shimmer. All the colors blend beautifully together, resulting in a glossy editorial look. However, I wish they were a bit more pigmented when applied to the lids. It took some time to build up the vibrant shades that I wanted, but once I achieved the look, it was stunning. I wore this palette to an event recently, and it garnered some of the most compliments on my eye makeup to date. The quality of this palette truly speaks for itself!

      This palette is definitely more aligned with my comfort zone. As someone with Brown skin, I typically stick to shades like these for everyday wear because they complement my skin tone the best. The warm tones look lovely on any skin tone, but if you're Black or Brown, trust me, this palette is a must-have. The bronze-copper corner shade is incredible on the lids. It quickly became my favorite shade in this palette, alongside the rich gold. The neutral hues complement the shimmers perfectly, showcasing Vanngo’s thoughtful selection. This palette allows for many different looks, and I thoroughly enjoyed creating both glamorous nighttime looks and simple everyday looks using just the matte shades.

      Wow, this palette is out of my comfort zone. I’ll be honest, even though I’ve been a beauty editor for years, it wasn’t until recently that I began experimenting with bolder colors. A few years ago, I would have never considered using these shades because I doubted my ability to make them look high-end and stunning. Now, I’m glad I took the plunge with this palette. It's perfect for those nights when you want to feel extra bold. The blues are incredibly vivid, and I plan to use it for my Halloween costume when the time comes. The darker teal metallic shades in this palette are absolutely gorgeous, and I found myself gravitating towards them.

      The only reason I never really embraced lip liners is because of my laziness, but after trying this one, my opinion has changed. It’s amusing how something as simple as a liner can elevate your lip color. This nude shade is the ideal neutral to pair with the brand's Creamy Matte Velvet Lipstick (more on that below), or it works well with a clear or neutral pink gloss. I tried it with both and was thrilled with the results.
