TikTok Suggested That Brazil Has Superior Curly Hair Products, So I Tried Them Out.

Throughout the years, I have tried numerous curly hair products, discovering a few that work well for my specific curl type and pattern, but I've also encountered my fair share of disappointing purchases. Anyone with curly hair will tell you how challenging it can be to identify products that suit them. Some leave hair frizzy, while others result in crunchy curls. Ultimately, all we desire are bouncy, lush, and moisturized curls. As a beauty editor, I'm always on the lookout for the newest products that are creating a buzz. Recently, there has been a growing interest in Brazilian curly hair products. It all started with a particular video of a woman in Brazil who visited a beauty store to stock up on affordable curly hair products. She claimed that the U.S. lagged behind Brazil in terms of product availability for curly hair. This prompted thousands to flock to Amazon to purchase Brazilian haircare items, which piqued my curiosity about their performance.

After conducting my research, I discovered that many people were impressed with the brand Lola From Rio and Keyoma (with Skala as a close runner-up), so I quickly clicked "add to cart" to see how they would perform on my 3b/3c curls. Continue reading for my complete review below.

      **About the Products I Used**

The first product I tried was the Keyoma Batana Oil. This product features an extra-strength formula infused with rosemary. It acts as a hair growth serum and scalp detox, promoting hair growth, eliminating product buildup, repairing split ends, and nourishing the scalp. The oil is lightweight and calming, requiring just two to three drops applied to targeted areas for 15–30 minutes before rinsing. Alternatively, it can be left in overnight as a treatment.

For refreshing my curls, I used the Lola From Rio Curl Defining Cream and Moisturizing Jelly Gel. The curl cream is designed to offer 24 hours of moisture and definition, along with shine and softness. Its subtle citrus fragrance and key ingredients, including coconut oil, patawa oil, quinoa, and aloe, help make detangling a breeze. The gel shares a similar scent and aims to enhance volume, reduce frizz, and increase definition with vegetable-derived glycerin, patawa oil, and quinoa seed extract.

      **How I Used My Products**

I decided to test the Keyoma Batana Oil during wash day. Unlike many oils available, this one is meant to be washed out (though it can double as an overnight treatment). I began by applying three drops of the serum around my hairline, where I tend to experience the most breakage. I massaged it into my scalp using my fingertips and let it rest for about 15 minutes before washing it out and proceeding with my shampoo and conditioner.

Three days later, I was ready to refresh my curls. Normally, I test hair products right after washing, but this time I decided to try them on my day three curls. The definition from my wash day had diminished significantly, and I was grappling with quite a bit of frizz, so I hoped these products would revive my curls. I sectioned my hair into three parts, clipping back two of them. Using a spray bottle and a round brush, I rewet my hair thoroughly. In the section I was working on, I generously applied the curl cream, ensuring that I covered all areas. To tackle tangles, I used my Wet Brush to gently comb from the roots to the ends. After detangling, I applied the gel and scrunched my curls for a fuller look. Once I completed one section, I clipped it up and repeated the same process for the remaining sections. This time, I opted out of using a diffuser and chose a microfiber towel to expedite the drying process.

      **The Results**

In terms of results, I did not notice any immediate changes after using the oil, as products of this nature generally require months of use for a significant difference. The website suggests that this brand can reveal results within one to two months, so I'm eager to continue my usage to see if there’s any noticeable change.

Regarding the other two products, I was genuinely amazed at how my curls turned out. Many brands offer gels that provide strong hold but leave hair feeling crunchy, even after using an oil to break the cast. While the Moisturizing Jelly Gel didn’t completely eliminate my frizz, it did an excellent job delivering volume, definition, and shine. When combined with the curl cream, it produced a soft finish. I found the curl cream to be effective on my hair, making detangling quite easy.

**Are the Viral Brazilian Curly Hair Products Worth It?**

Overall, I believe these products are indeed worthwhile, especially if you're looking for hair that appears and feels great without spending a fortune. Unfortunately, curly hair products often come at a high cost and aren’t always budget-friendly given how frequently they’re needed, but these items serve as fantastic
