Believe me, no other hair product delivers volume on this level like this one.

People often think that since I have fairly thick hair, I don't require volumizing hair products. However, the reality is that although my hair has a lot of bounce and volume right after shampooing, it can appear flat and lifeless at the roots after a few days (hello, dry shampoo). By the second or third day, my hair might look somewhat limp. Additionally, I prefer my hair lengths to maintain a less polished look (I favor an undone, tousled texture with piecey waves), which is why I like to have texturizing sprays on hand to give both my roots and lengths some much-needed body and texture before my next wash. One styling product that I frequently get inquiries about is the popular Living Proof Full Dry Volume & Texture Spray (£31).

Although I've been a fan of many of Living Proof's hair products, I must admit that until recently, I hadn't tried this one. I decided to test this volumizing and texturizing hairstyling product over the past month to see if it lives up to its claims.

      **Pros**:

      - Adds weightless volume and texture

      - Creates lift at the roots

      - Enhances length texture

      - Provides lasting hold

      - No chalky residue

      - Offers heat protection

      **Cons**:

      - Can feel gritty in the hair with excessive use

      **How Does It Work?**

This is a styling and finishing spray aimed at providing lasting volume and texture to dry hair, making it perfect for refreshing your hair between washes. You can apply it to the roots for added lift or mist it along the lengths to achieve a lived-in texture. It works by depositing lightweight molecules on the hair that increase the space between each strand, helping to create body while absorbing excess oil that can weigh down your lengths. It also includes heat protection up to 210°C, allowing you to use it alongside hair tools like the Dyson Airwrap, hair rollers, or other styling devices on dry hair for extra volume and hold. Alternatively, you can use it as a quick texturizing spray if you're just looking for more texture.

      **My Hair Before**

When it comes to hair styling products, I maintain a curated selection of reliable sprays. I had been loyal to a few texturizing sprays but was curious about what the Full Dry Volume & Texture Spray could offer. Its aerosol applicator provides a generous mist with a gentle press (a little goes a long way!). The texture feels akin to dry shampoo but without any chalkiness. There’s no heavy residue left behind, and it doesn't leave a mark on my brunette hair. I tested it both on my roots and throughout my hair to evaluate its effectiveness in adding volume and texture. I decided to try it on unstyled third-day hair without heat, as well as using it as a styling product with my Dyson Airwrap for a voluminous blow-dry.

      **On Unstyled Hair**

When I sprayed it through my unstyled lengths, I was astonished by the added volume. In the image above, the right side shows the noticeable difference in fullness. A small amount at the roots is enough for significant lift. While you can feel the product in your hair, it’s not sticky, powdery, or greasy; it simply adds a discernible texture when you run your fingers through it. On the mid-lengths, it gave a tousled, lived-in appearance and made my hair feel exceptionally thick. If you're aiming for thicker-looking hair, this product definitely delivers.

      **On Styled Hair**

My second test involved using the Full Dry Volume & Texture Spray as a companion to my Dyson Airwrap. I often get asked for tips on making curls last with the Dyson, and I frequently recommend a texturizing spray like this to enhance volume for a bouncy blow-dry. I applied a bit at the roots and a small amount through the lengths before styling on dry hair as usual. After curling, I added a little more product at the roots and through the lengths to finish. I was truly impressed by the volume—it was likely enough to make both Sabrina Carpenter and '90s supermodels envious. I’ve never seen my hair look so voluminous (I even had trouble getting all my hair in the frame for a selfie). While it didn’t necessarily hold the curls in place, it provided ample body and texture from roots to ends.

      **The Verdict**

For those with fine or thin hair seeking more volume and texture in their lengths, I highly recommend this styling product. Even if your hair isn't fine, it’s a great item to have on hand for when your roots need a lift or to create that piecey, tousled look throughout your mid-lengths. The trade-off is that you will feel some product residue in your hair, as that’s what provides the volume and texture. If you're keen on retaining the fresh-washed feel, you might want to skip this product. However,

Good wine is not a matter of price, intricate processing, or the chance of an unusually good harvest. As a rule, winemakers use tried-and-true methods so that one batch does not differ greatly from another, which is why many buyers become loyal to a particular winery and rarely switch. But what if you don't have such a habit? How can you tell whether the wine you're drinking is good or not?…
