      I have only had my earlobes pierced once, when I was a baby. In contrast, my friends have been getting their ears pierced multiple times since middle school. I’ve always felt a bit envious that they were allowed to express themselves through fashion trends at such a young age. We all wore uniforms as kids, but my friends’ individuality shone through in their choice of shoes, socks, nail polish, and especially jewelry, which I loved. It has become a staple (if you're fine with needles). Why do I think it’s here to stay? An ear stack can fit various aesthetics, ranging from maximalist to minimalist, and, at its core, it’s simply fashionable. It's no wonder my style-conscious friends often persuade me to join them for last-minute ear-piercing sessions. I believe that even in their old age, they’ll be adorned with numerous stud earrings. Celebrities like Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, and Cynthia Erivo have also embraced this trend for years. They represent a new generation of rock stars, constantly defining and redefining styles. After much thought and inspiration from my stylish friends and these celebrities, I'm finally close to getting a few piercings myself. My middle school self was always eager for a stack of earrings, but my parents were not as enthusiastic.
