This Shoe Color Trend Is More Stylish Than Black, Burgundy, and Brown

      Throughout my elementary school years, I adhered to a uniform that restricted my footwear to just three colors: black, brown, and navy. Embracing my inner fashion rebel, I opted for the navy shade, which set me apart from nearly everyone else in my school. I didn’t mind, though—I cherished my navy-blue ballet flats and wore them even outside of class. Once elementary school concluded, however, those navy flats were left behind. In fact, I didn't think to wear that color in shoes again; black, brown, and burgundy quickly took over. Recently, though, I've seen a resurgence of styles in that elegant hue, reminding me why I loved it in the first place.

      Brands like Alaïa and Miu Miu, along with classic shoemakers such as Manolo Blahnik and Gianvito Rossi, are all part of the navy shoe brigade. My personal favorite are the Cendrillon Flats from Repetto, the preferred choice for many stylish French women seeking comfort and elegance. I'm not alone in my affection for them—Kaia Gerber, who showcases the Cendrillon Flats in various colors, also owns a navy pair, which she recently wore while getting ready for a New Play Reading Series at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachusetts. The model and actress paired her flats effortlessly with a coordinated athletic skort, a red T-shirt, and a black sweatshirt. While sneakers could have easily complemented the outfit, her choice of flats added a touch of sophistication that sneakers would not have provided. Furthermore, the same shoes could be dressed up by swapping the skort for white jeans or black trousers and tweaking the sweatshirt for a sweater or white blouse.
