      As someone who understands the challenges of the unpredictable UK weather quite well, I would never want to rush through the summer season. Yet, occasionally, a potential buy comes along that eases my concerns about the colder months, sparking a flurry of styling ideas in my mind. This was the case for me last year when I discovered a particular high-street item that could easily be mistaken for a designer piece: H&M’s pointed-toe Knee-High Boots (£55).

      Featuring a narrow kitten heel, a sleek pointed toe, and a knee-high design, the thoughtful details of these boots make them appear more luxurious than their affordable price. I first noticed them worn by several of my Who What Wear UK colleagues and promptly added them to my online wish list. However, it was no surprise when they sold out before the season ended. This year, I'm determined not to make the same mistake by waiting too long. I added them to my basket as soon as I noticed they were back in stock.

      @astyleedit dons H&M knee-high boots from 2024. I'm not alone in this excitement. Our deputy editor, Maxine Eggenberger, also grabbed these boots immediately upon seeing them online. She commented, "Expensive shoes are wasted on me—my mother has been telling me for years that I'm too tough on my footwear, and I must admit she has a point. I can just imagine myself in a pair of Miu Miu slingbacks, and within minutes I'd stub my toe on a curb. Because of this, I have become quite adept at discovering high-street shoes that appear high-end. The trick is to seek out elegant, timeless styles, and these H&M boots fulfill that requirement perfectly. The brand brings this style back every year, and it always sells out quickly. However, I believe they've perfected the formula for 2025. With the ideal heel height, just the right amount of point on the toe, and a modern wide-calf design, these boots would seamlessly fit into any high-end department store next to brands like The Row and Toteme. Although they're faux leather, the matte finish keeps them from looking plastic. I opted for the black option, but I also have my eyes on the brown pair. It's often tough for high street brands to get brown right, but these boots manage to look quite luxurious in that rich chocolate hue. H&M has truly nailed it this time."

      While we are still enjoying summer here in London, I already have countless ideas on how to style my boots once they arrive. With temperatures starting to dip slightly, I have no doubt I'll be wearing them soon. Here are three ways I intend to style these boots for autumn and beyond:
