      With Labor Day now in the past, I'm prepared to start setting aside some of my summer wardrobe for the time being. The challenge is that it still feels quite summery outside. While I've mentally shifted to fall, it seems a bit premature to bring out the sweaters and suede boots. That's where Alexa Chung comes in with an ideal outfit solution for the moment, merging elements of summer with those of fall. Currently in Italy for the Venice Film Festival, she brought along a lightweight white Prada minidress made of poplin. Had she chosen sandals to go with the dress, it would have appeared very summery. However, by selecting a shoe trend that is more substantial, her outfit transitioned from high summer vibes to something more fitting for September. The trend is patent leather block heels, which are quite popular among the European It-girl scene, of which Chung is a part.
