Not Loafers, Not Ballet Flats—The "Outdated" Flat-Shoe Trend That French Women Often Wear

Having long since dismissed the discomfort of wearing heels for extended periods, I'm constantly searching for flat shoe trends that appear equally elegant and refined. My closet is already filled with ballet flats and loafers, but lately I’ve discovered a new trend in flat shoes that is reappearing in the wardrobes of the most fashionable French women. T-bar flats, sleek and sophisticated, are making their way into my collection this season. Reminiscent of the school shoes I wore daily, this season's styles feel distinctly mature, though I must say the back-to-school vibe makes them ideal for September fashion.

It’s hardly surprising that the French have already embraced them as a wardrobe essential. Their blend of comfort, elegance, and understated sophistication embodies the essence of Parisian style, providing ample reason for me to include them in my own collection. This autumn, I plan to wear mine with everything from pleated skirts to relaxed jeans. Continue reading to shop for the must-have T-bar flats of the season.
