      We are officially entering the thick jacket season. You know, that time of year when the mornings are so brisk that you need to warm up your car before heading to work, a stark contrast to the Indian summer we enjoyed just a few weeks ago.

      As this season approaches, my first question is: what type of jacket should I invest in this year? With trench coats, barn jackets, and leather funnel necks all trending for autumn/winter 2025, each style seemed like a wise choice. However, I came across a particular H&M faux shearling jacket.

      At first glance, the design appears quite straightforward. It falls to mid-thigh and features a deep, rounded collarless neckline made of soft faux shearling fabric with leather trim. The fluffy jacket from H&M resembles a relative of the much-talked-about Toteme leather-trimmed shearling coat that launched in autumn/winter 2023. Priced at £44.99, I couldn't help but wonder why this jacket looked so high-end. Yet, one small detail caught my eye repeatedly: the artisanal toggle button fastenings. With toggles quickly becoming a micro trend in A/W 2025 (especially with the Rohe Mandarin Double-Faced Wool Jacket), this feature adds a polished, luxurious touch to this season's version of H&M's popular silhouette.

      Curious, I scrolled through my Instagram feed and noticed a significant number of stylish individuals were gravitating towards this H&M jacket style over its earlier versions, perfectly elevating a staple jeans-and-sneaker look to a blend of cozy and chic. If you missed out last year or, like me, are looking to add a new jacket to your capsule wardrobe, I recommend you don’t let this opportunity pass. I predict it will sell out by the end of the month, if not sooner.
