I’ve just returned from Fashion Week in Paris and Milan—here are 7 trends I noticed all over.
Another fashion week has passed, leaving us with memories, shopping lists, and plenty of inspiration. Moda Operandi truly understands fashion month; we immediately turn to them after the shows to explore collections and strategize our purchases for the upcoming season. We chatted with April Hennig to discuss her experiences attending shows in New York, Milan, and Paris this season, and she has some insights to share.
Which city had your favorite fashion week this season? Paris stood out as my favorite. As the grand finale of the month, it exuded genuine excitement. Highlighting the season were some of the most eagerly awaited new designer debuts from Dior, Loewe, Chanel, and Balenciaga, showcasing new leadership and its execution.
Can you share a memorable moment from this fashion month? We hosted a party with Fendi in New York to celebrate the relaunch of the Spy bag, which was unforgettable. The night was filled with early 2000s nostalgia, featuring Paul Sevigny on the decks and an appearance by Lindsay Lohan, along with the iconic Spy Bag's revival. The positive reception and media attention surrounding the launch made it even more special for the teams at Fendi and Moda.
Which show you attended was your personal favorite? Alaia consistently captivates. This year's show, held at the stunning Fondation Cartier, presented an impressive visual display. Pieter Mulier continues to innovate, striking a harmonious balance between honoring the brand's heritage and expressing his own creativity.
Were there any looks that you immediately wished to wear? Below are a few of my top choices…
What trends are you most eager to shop for first? From vibrant neons to bold primaries, designers like Dries Van Noten, Tom Ford, Loewe, Ferragamo, Jil Sander, Bottega, and Fendi are confidently embracing color. After seasons dominated by minimalism and subdued palettes, it's refreshing to see designers experimenting with bright, statement-making hues.
