A few seasons ago, I would have found it hard to believe that I would come across numerous legging outfits while evaluating the street style at Paris Fashion Week. However, while compiling this season's street style report, I encountered leggings everywhere. The most esteemed attendees styled them with a purposeful intent more commonly associated with tailored trousers and skirts. This unexpected turn took me by surprise, but after seeing the way they were pulled together, I'm starting to appreciate them.
This trend wasn't a mere one-time occurrence. From sleek stirrup leggings peeking out beneath standout coats to classic pedal pushers paired with airy blouses, leggings were suddenly ubiquitous and surprisingly stylish. In my pursuit of what made these leggings so fashionable, I noticed a recurring theme: those wearing them typically paired them with pumps. Whether slingbacks or sculptural designs, this simple addition allowed leggings to blend seamlessly among fashion week attendees. Naturally, I began documenting my findings.
