My Milky-Pink Nail Polish is so flawless that people believe it's a unique blend—here's the reveal.
As a beauty editor who frequently tests and assesses products, I have the privilege of previewing upcoming launches before they're revealed to the public. While this is a significant advantage, it creates a minor challenge when someone inquires about what product I’m using—whether it’s a new mascara, highlighter, lip oil, or fragrance—and I need to keep it under wraps until it’s *officially* time to rave about it. I encountered such a scenario in September, following the NYFW frenzy. I had received a sample of the nail polish used at Sandy Liang and chose to wear it for my bachelorette party a week later—a trendy polish perfect for an ultimate girls' getaway. Right away, my friends were eager to know the name of the polish so they could get it for themselves; one even speculated that I had a professional gel manicure featuring a custom color because of its glossy and long-lasting finish. It strikes the perfect balance of being milky yet highly pigmented, playful yet sophisticated, and now I can officially say it’s Celisse Babydoll.
Celisse's nail polishes, which debuted earlier in October, are called Quickcoats: sheer, buildable colors that not only smooth ridges and soften dips but also dry in just 90 seconds. The formula includes mastic gum, which adds thickness and minimizes breakage over time, making it ideal for anyone looking to promote healthy nail growth (and possibly move away from gels and acrylics). The shine is incredibly glossy—a just-applied-cuticle-oil-on-my-nails kind of shine, and believe me, the effect lasts for several days. One coat provides a milky wash of color, while two or more layers intensify the pink hue; regardless of how many coats you apply, it dries in record time. It’s no surprise this chic pink has made numerous appearances, from fashion week runways to major makeup campaigns, and even the 2025 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. It’s quickly becoming NYC’s trendiest polish, and honestly, I wouldn’t expect anything less from Holly Falcone, the founding creative director and brand manicurist, alongside founder and CEO Jessica Blumenthal.
Now, I consider Babydoll a treasured beauty item, but for those who prefer a more neutral option, Celisse also has Vanity (a sheer, pale pink) and Camisole (a soft, warm nude). Both shades offer that same glossy finish with a bit more sophistication, while Babydoll certainly embraces an ultra-elegant and sweet aesthetic (which suits Sandy Liang perfectly, in my opinion).
Unsure about which color to choose? You can also go for The Full Set, which includes all three shades, a high-gloss topcoat (for an extra sheen), a rapidly-absorbing cuticle serum, a gentle double-sided nail file, and a shine-enhancing buffer. This makes for an incredible holiday gift, one that Blumenthal mentioned has quickly become a bestseller (especially since its beautiful keepsake box is only available while supplies last!).
By the way, that file is one of the best I’ve ever owned, as it features a precise, pointed tip for refining corners and achieving the ideal shape. So, even if you plan to purchase just one polish shade, I recommend grabbing the $12 tool as well. Check out the links I can now share with my group chat.
