After getting a star design on one side of my head and a spiral on the other, my love for braids deepened even more. Many Black women with textured and type 4 hair often find it challenging to embrace their natural hair, which is why braids have always been a popular choice for me. During college, I frequently opted for traditional cornrows since the idea of managing my hair daily alongside my studies and activities was overwhelming. Braids are a significant part of my life and culture as a Black woman, serving as a beautiful form of self-expression. My hair is my favorite accessory, and braids allow me to showcase my identity.
