While I enjoy identifying new-season trends, they're not always easy to integrate into every wardrobe. Even as a fashion editor, it can be challenging to predict which trends will endure and which will fade swiftly. I've always leaned towards a classic, timeless aesthetic, curating my wardrobe with essential pieces that endure over time. As a minimalist at heart, I prefer neutrals and subtle hues to vivid colors and striking prints. With age, I’ve also embraced a more sustainable shopping mindset: I invest in items I can style in at least five different ways and that I know will be staples in my wardrobe year after year.
However, that doesn’t imply that designer pieces are always superior. I seldom make significant purchases on high-end items (mainly due to budget constraints) and usually lean towards the high-street brands I adore for my capsule wardrobe. The high street has improved significantly over the years, and often its items appear far more luxurious than their actual price. Moreover, with proper care, these pieces can last for years, which is precisely what clothing should do.
