      As December approaches, our thoughts at Who What Wear UK are consumed by what to wear for the numerous events flooding our inboxes. From black-tie functions and fashion parties to family gatherings, cocktail evenings, New Year’s Eve celebrations, and even the occasional ballet or theatre ticket, now is the perfect time to consider how to look and feel our best. If you're unsure about what to don, classic party dresses are always a reliable choice (sometimes it's preferable to be overdressed rather than underdressed), while "jeans and a nice top" combinations work well for more casual gatherings. Don’t forget about sparkling accessories, including bags, jewelry, and shoes, which can elevate any outfit from basic to fabulous.       "This party season, I'm embracing classic trends with a unique twist. I've received a couple of black-tie invitations, so I’m counting on my new favorite ASOS Arrange dress, a stylish black-and-white number featuring a cape and low-back detail. The thick, satin-like fabric has tricked some friends into thinking it’s a designer piece. To stay warm while hopping out of my Uber into the venue, I'll drape a shearling coat over it (to avoid crumpling the cape), and this reversible one from Mango is perfect." Day-to-day, I wear gold jewelry, but I switch to silver for evening events. These Kinraden drop earrings and a Thomas Sabo bangle are substantial yet elegant, paired with a sequin bag from Rabanne for a bit of a disco vibe. For glam, I always use Hourglass mascara for what I refer to as a ‘party lash’; it’s thick, pitch black, and doesn’t smudge! The Vyrao fragrance adds an expensive yet fun scent to my outfit, and my reliable slingback heels from Zara will keep me dancing all night long. I wonder if the DJ takes requests...

      "I prefer to maintain a darker color palette, even during the festive season, so I focus on textures to keep my outfits engaging. Velvet, sequins, and rhinestone detailing are synonymous with Christmas, and the Mango set and accessories I've chosen are neutral enough to wear separately after the party season. For makeup, I believe the key to a good party look is all about the glow, so glossy highlighters and metallic eyeshadows are a must, paired with a bold lip that enhances the overall look."

      "I'm not exactly the festive type. I usually avoid sequins and anything overly flashy, making party season feel a bit tricky. However, I've discovered that you can create a great festive outfit without compromising my personal style. The trick? Choosing pieces that feel celebratory yet sophisticated. With my calendar filling up with Christmas events, I’m looking for an outfit that finds that ideal balance." Enter diamanté jeans. They’re subtly sparkling, undeniably fun, and still within my comfort zone. I’m particularly fond of this brown pair from Mango. Pair them with a festive yet understated top and a faux-fur jacket, and you've got the Christmas version of the classic 'jeans and a nice top' look. To complete the outfit, I’m opting for my Charles & Keith crystal-embellished Mary Janes and a Rixo bag that resembles a disco ball for a touch of drama. Before leaving, I'll add some flashy earrings and a spritz of my beloved Jo Malone scent. Problem solved for low-key party dressing!
