If you were to peek inside my closet, you'd quickly encounter my vast assortment of black heels, with at least 25 choices available. I admit I have a situation, and I truly enjoy black heels. However, black isn't the only shoe color that deserves attention, as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley recognizes. The British supermodel and new fashion director of Fwrd was seen attending Rocco Ritchie's art exhibition, titled Talk Is Cheap, along with her husband, actor Jason Statham, this past weekend in London. For the event, Huntington-Whiteley faced the city's rainy conditions and opted for a white, floor-length gown featuring long sleeves, a deep-V neckline, padded shoulders, and a fitted waist. Did she pair it with black heels? Even better—she chose satin, pointed-toe taupe heels that, along with her matching bag, elevated her outfit into an elegant look befitting a newly appointed fashion director.

Huntington-Whiteley's white dress may look recognizable to those familiar with celebrity fashion and runway shows. It was the opening look from Anthony Vaccarello's S/S 22 Saint Laurent collection, showcased in front of the sparkling Eiffel Tower in Paris. On the runway, the dress was styled more dramatically with oversized gold cuff bracelets, accents of Yves Klein blue, dark sunglasses, and platform peep-toe heels (which were black, I should note). Hailey Bieber also wore the dress in 2021 to the LACMA Art+Film Gala in Los Angeles, styling it similarly to the runway presentation. We’ve come to see Huntington-Whiteley's personal style as slightly more minimalist, which is why her laid-back styling made perfect sense; she accessorized with just a ring, her Andrea Marron clutch, and Saint Laurent's satin Mug Slingback Pumps in a luxurious taupe beige.

Just like a pair of burgundy heels or even navy and chocolate brown, Huntington-Whiteley's choice to diverge from the norm and select a more striking pair of taupe heels to complement her white dress had a significant impact, creating a look that felt fresh and light despite London's gloomy winter weather. (Her satin footwear and white hemline may not have fared well in the wet conditions, but if anyone has access to a reliable dry cleaner, it's Huntington-Whiteley.)
