Body care and fragrance combined—these trending French products are perfect for combatting dry skin in winter.
Once winter arrives, my skin takes a hit if I don’t use the appropriate products. While not moisturizing at all is a glaring sign of neglect, I often discover that some moisturizers can leave my skin looking and feeling ashy in the morning. So ashy, in fact, that I could draw tic-tac-toe on my legs—a clear indication that my hydration efforts are lacking. Recently, I decided to test a range of body care products from the beloved French brand L'Occitane to see if they could help. Being the inquisitive beauty editor that I am, I finally chose to try the brand's TikTok-famous almond line because so many of my favorite influencers rave about it. Spoiler alert: They were onto something—this collection is a lifesaver for dry winter skin.
I try numerous body care products, and many have left me feeling unimpressed, but not these. They not only leave your skin incredibly soft but also have a fantastic scent. So delightful, in fact, that you can forgo additional fragrance if you enjoy a light, subtly sweet aroma. The recent trend of "skinimalism" has paved the way for collections like this, and trust me, these are ideal staples for days when you want to keep it simple without using a multitude of products. If you haven't yet tried this collection but are curious due to all the positive feedback, keep reading. I'll share all my thoughts about it below, along with a few of my other favorite L'Occitane items.

**Hydrating Almond Milk Concentrate Body Moisturizer**
Typically, I’m not a fan of heavily scented body moisturizers because they can be overwhelming. I also aim for a routine that leans towards cleaner ingredients, and products with a lot of fragrance aren't always ideal. However, this L'Occitane moisturizer finds the perfect balance. While it has a subtle almond fragrance, it's not overpowering and never irritates my skin. Its hydrating properties are truly exceptional. The texture is silky, smooth, and extremely moisturizing right out of the jar, thanks to a generous dose of almond oil and almond milk sourced from Provence almonds. I can’t get enough of how it feels on my skin. The light, airy, almost whipped texture melts into my skin after a shower, leaving it as smooth as a baby’s bottom. Even though the sweet almond scent is gentle, it lingers for a while, which I appreciate. When my skin feels particularly dry, I like to pair this lotion with the brand's body oil for even more hydration.

**Smoothing and Firming Almond Supple Skin Body Oil**
This oil is incredibly luxurious, smooth, and hydrating, suitable for use on its own or alongside the brand's body care for extra dry skin. Similar to the body cream, it’s packed with sweet almond oil aimed at firming, moisturizing, and improving the appearance of stretch marks. The scent is lovely—light almond with a hint of vanilla. From now on, I'll be relying on the combination of the body cream and oil throughout winter. To enhance it further, I enjoy pairing it with a perfume that has almond notes, like Dior’s Hypnotic Poison ($98).

**Cleansing and Softening Refillable Shower Oil**
This was the product I was most eager to try from the line—especially since Love Island: USA star Leah Kateb raves about it, and we share similar tastes in body care. I had never used a shower oil before, and now I realize what I was missing. Initially, I thought a shower oil would function more like a dry oil you use in the shower, but I was mistaken. It acts more like a body wash rich in oils. It felt wonderfully soft and silky on my skin while providing the ideal amount of lather. It genuinely offers the best of both worlds. Aside from its key ingredient, almond oil, the formula also contains omega-rich grape seed oil for extra glide and softness. While I did enjoy this, the sweet almond scent that I loved in the body cream and oil didn’t translate as well in the shower oil, in my opinion. It didn’t smell quite as delightful as the other products in the collection, but regardless, it’s still an excellent product, and I was surprised by how soft my skin felt after showering.

**Almond Hair & Body Fragrance Mist**
To truly lock in the fragrance from the body cream and oil, you can layer this almond fragrance mist on top. To me, this scent embodies what a chic and effortlessly cool French person would smell like. If you enjoy gourmand fragrances, you’ll be enamored with the warm, sweet notes of vanilla and almond. The bergamot notes provide an earthy undertone that’s completely irresistible.
