Apologies to my 10-Deniers—The Row has persuaded me to opt for these "outdated" winter tights in 2026.
The influence of The Row is clear—it's a subtle yet impactful presence. Founded by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the brand doesn't directly promote consumerism; instead, it acts as a masterclass in style, encouraging a reevaluation of personal taste. It has taught the fashion industry to value fabric quality, exact proportions, how garments move, and adaptable styling options before jumping to conclusions or making purchases. Many people share the brand's effect on their wardrobes. I have numerous examples, but the most recent and significant one is how it persuaded me to trade my sheer stockings for cashmere tights.
If you know me, you understand that I eagerly await winter in NYC to wear my collection of sheer tights—especially the brown ones, a detail familiar to those closest to me. Thus, it was quite a challenge for The Row to convince me to exchange my usual 10- or 20-denier sheer tights for much thicker, opaquely styled ones. However, after viewing their resort 2026 collection, I was sold.
In March, during Paris Fashion Week, The Row showcased its resort 2026 collection, maintaining its minimalist yet intricate aesthetic in a manner that is far from dull or simple. The collection featured a variety of collar-flipped coats and flowing dresses, with a noticeable absence of shoes. In almost half of the collection, thick cashmere tights rather than shoes separated the models' feet from the floor, immediately capturing my interest, as did the styling of these tights. When not worn with dresses or skirts, the tights were styled as leggings, without any layers over them, only paired with sweaters or blouses, topped with bold outerwear.
Cashmere tights epitomize winter sophistication. They are incredibly soft compared to sheer tights, naturally insulating, and have an elegant finish. Additionally, their thick texture adds an interesting layer of depth, enhancing even the simplest winter ensembles. However, if you have sensitive skin and find cashmere irritating, this trend may not be suitable for you. But don't fret—there are plenty of other The Row-inspired looks you can explore without discomfort. Reach out if you're looking for ideas.
