Loves of My Life: Miriam Petche

The most memorable interviews tend to be the most personal. In Loves of My Life, we delve into the individual behind their artistry, posing the crucial questions we are eager to discover—their favorite restaurants and go-to date-night venues, what they're saving on Instagram, the piece of jewelry they hold dear, and the contents of their handbag. Essentially, these represent their genuine passions in life.

British actress Miriam Petche will be reprising her role in the eagerly awaited fourth season of HBO/BBC's Industry. She returns as the admired character of new graduate Sweetpea Golightly, a bold and outspoken Gen Z individual whom American Vogue named the "breakout star" of the third season. Critics described her as a "season standout," "captivating," and "scene-stealing," and her role is expected to be even more prominent this season.

Miriam began her acting career as a child on the popular children's program The Worst Witch for BBC, alongside Bella Ramsey. She is currently working on a leading role in ITV's true-crime drama Believe Me. We caught up with Miriam during her busy schedule to discuss the loves of her life.

Thanks for speaking with us, Miriam! What’s your top restaurant in the entire world, and what do you order there?

I can’t say I have a number one favorite, but a new place called Patio just opened in Brighton, and I'm currently enamored with it. We'll see how this goes...

Is there anything in your home that has sentimental value?

Everything—I tend to be very sentimental. However, I have a particular cat toy from when I was a child. That toy is definitely staying with me.

What would we always find at the bottom of your handbag?

Old gum wrappers and likely an unused plaster. Sorry, I know that sounds gross.

Who are the people that uplift you?

My mum, dad, sister, and friends. It sounds cliché, but they truly are the loves of my life.

If you could only vacation in one place for the rest of your life, where would it be?

I've always wanted to live in New York, so if that opportunity arises...

It’s a sunny Sunday at home with no plans. How would you spend your day?

I’d go to the beach with my mum and the dogs, and we would enjoy a tuna melt sandwich. Then later, I'm off for a roast dinner with my friends. Afterward, I’d take a bath and watch The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, followed by a hot chocolate.

Is there a piece of jewelry that holds significant meaning to you?

I got matching chains for my sister and me when she graduated from medical school. That means a lot to me.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I love a long, relaxing bath—the works: salts, candles, and bubbles.

Do you have a secret date-night location?

I should probably date more to know that! But I think any hidden cocktail bar would be a cool spot.

Which piece of clothing would you never let go of, and why?

My black wool coat comes out every winter. It feels like part of my personality at this point; it’s an extension of who I am.

What’s your most-played artist on Spotify?

I've been playing Tame Impala, Rosalía, Lily Allen, and Ariana Grande’s latest albums on repeat.

If we looked at your Saved folder on Instagram right now, what would we see?

So many cocktail and food recipes—I have several gatherings coming up, and I want to be ready. Plus, any Real Housewives content I need to revisit.

      Favorite city for inspiration?

      London, without a doubt.

What’s your must-pack item when going on holiday?

My Kindle (which actually belongs to my mum), but it feels like a whole new world with it. I didn’t realize how great life could be with a Kindle, but now I’m hooked.

What’s the most cherished item in your closet?

A pair of black knee-high pointed-toe boots that my sister bought me for my birthday a few years ago. They've been with me for many nights out and will continue to be a favorite.

Which beauty product is essential for you?

Does my skincare routine count? Good makeup starts with great skin, and I finally have my routine just right.

What are your essentials for your trailer? What do you need on set?

I’m still figuring it out, but I've started bringing small tins of dates and chocolate to set as a midday treat from my morning self.

What comfort food do you cherish?

So many things! But dippy eggs have made a major comeback in my life lately—dippy eggs and Marmite. My sister reintroduced them, and I’ve had them every day for about three months now.

What are your three all-time favorite movies?

My favorites change often, so don’t hold me to this,
