Something Old, Something New: 8 Items to Buy and 8 Outfits to Rewear that WWW Editors Are Preparing for NYFW

Preparing for New York Fashion Week often leads me into a distinct mental loop. On one side, I crave something fresh—something engaging, on-trend, and deserving of being captured between shows. Conversely, my past experiences have taught me that I frequently gravitate toward pieces I already rely on. The coat that always performs well. The shoes that are actually comfortable for walking. The bag that pairs effortlessly with everything. This season, while I was envisioning outfits (and trying to curb the impulse to buy everything), I began to think about what my fellow Who What Wear editors were planning. I reached out to a few of my editor colleagues to find out exactly what they're purchasing for NYFW, along with what they’re content to wear again. The outcome is a genuine reflection of our current dressing habits. While there are a handful of intentional new buys included, there’s also a good deal of outfit repetition, clever layering, and beloved pieces that have already solidified their spots in our closets. Below, four of us share the eight new items we're most eager to showcase this Fashion Week, complemented by eight older favorites we’ll be wearing again. After all, if NYFW has taught us anything, it's that the best outfits are seldom created from scratch.

Vince
High-Waist Pleated Trouser
Something old: "Vince designs some of my favorite trousers—it's all about the material, fit, and craftsmanship. I wear this particular wide-leg pair frequently and will be basing many of my Fashion Week outfits around them (likely paired with a turtleneck and a faux-fur coat)."
COS
Chunky Cashmere Mock-Neck Sweater
Something new: "COS cashmere sweaters have always appealed to me. This red version will add a vibrant touch to my ensembles."

Free People
Vagabond Blanca Tall Boots
Something old: "Having NYFW in February, especially for someone like me who dislikes the cold, requires more planning than September. These black knee-high Vagabond boots are my top choice whenever I want to stay warm yet stylish. I wear them regularly with longer skirts, hiding thermal tights underneath."
Loulou De Saison
Cara Super 120s Wool Pencil Skirt
Something new: "Whenever I'm in urgent need of clothes, I usually browse Nordstrom's Space section for items that feel special and curated, yet still ship quickly."
Ana Escalante, Associate Features Editor
GU
Balmacaan A-Line Half Coat
Something new: "I got this GU coat while previewing the brand's latest spring collection, and unlike my other trench coats, the subtle flared A-Line cut feels quite feminine and distinct. I can't help but wear it, and I plan to bring it out on a cooler (or car-heavy!) day during Fashion Week."
Gap
High Rise Barrel Jeans
Something old: "These are technically new to me, but I've worn them almost weekly for the past two months. The cut and color are perfection, so I know I’ll build several Fashion Week outfits around them."
Ganni
Printed Flock Denim Baggy
Something new: "I found these printed jeans at Ganni's Copenhagen flagship store, and I can't wait to debut them during New York Fashion Week with all my outfits. They are sure to catch the eye of street-style photographers."
Verafied
Silver Noir Éclair Bag
Something old: "Ask any NYC It girl, and they will confirm that Verafied is a rising accessories brand to watch. I adore my east-west handbag from them, and without fail, people ask where it's from whenever I carry it. If you're in search of a true compliment magnet—whether you're attending New York Fashion Week or not—I've got the perfect bag for you."
Madewell
The Lexie Ankle Boot
Something new: "In my pursuit of the best black ankle boots in NYC, I added these Madewell booties to my collection. Their subtle, Western-inspired design and chunkier heels make them ideal for pairing with my jeans and fringe coats while darting from one show to another."
Heaven Mayhem
Baby Knot Earrings
Something old: "These classic baby knot earrings from Heaven Mayhem—available in both gold and silver—are always part of my accessories rotation. They offer an instant outfit enhancement in my opinion."
Gigi Burris
Lauren Pillbox Hat
Something new: "Since returning from Copenhagen Fashion Week, I've really embraced hats. After wearing the white version of this hat for a week straight and receiving numerous compliments, I decided to add the black version to my collection."
Uniqlo
Soft Ribbed T-Shirt (long Sleeve)
Something old: "If you see me in the winter, it's likely I'm in a chunky sweater with this classic long-s
