      There’s so much to adore about spring, from the longer daylight hours to the rise in temperature; however, as someone who favors black, pastels don’t fall into my love list. I struggle to make them appear upscale, find them challenging to style, and I needn’t even mention the ongoing concern of staining. Recently, though, I noticed Margot Robbie sporting an unexpected hue for this time of year: a complete black spring ensemble.

It evokes a polished, cohesive look and, most importantly, feels luxurious regardless of the budget. Dressed in a black lightweight crewneck sweater, wide-leg tailored pants, and chisel-toe boots, Margot completed her outfit with a matching shoulder bag and sleek sunglasses (alongside a laptop, which inspires me to replicate this style during my next office visit). She demonstrated that an all-monochrome look is a reliable way to appear chic throughout the year. In contrast to pastels, which often require more effort to style and maintain, black allows for a dressing experience that feels as effortless as it appears polished. Furthermore, since all-black outfits are typically associated with autumn and winter, seeing this shade during warmer months feels particularly refreshing. I, for one, plan to take a page from Margot Robbie’s book this season and embrace this classic hue from head to toe.
