As editors, we evaluate a multitude of products (and I truly mean many). This aspect of the job is arguably my favorite, as it allows me to recommend the finest beauty purchases to family, friends, and everyone else. However, I will admit there are still a few product types I haven't delved into as much. One such example is body oils. I struggle with extremely dry skin and usually prefer rich skin butters and hydrating creams to keep my skin soft throughout the year. Thus, when it was time to explore some options, I felt it best to consult my fellow editors on which products were worthwhile investments.

Usually, when I reach out to my colleagues, I receive a broad array of suggestions. However, this time was slightly different. To my surprise, several editors from Who What Wear pointed to very similar body oil brands, which I have now added to my wish list. (Clearly, I have some catching up to do!) If you're also interested in trying your first body oil, I'm sharing the top 7 that received multiple endorsements. Continue reading for their favorites.

Best Overall: OSEA Undaria Algae Body Oil

      OSEA

      Undaria Algae Body Oil

Our top overall choice received approval from not just two, but four editors. "This isn't heavily marketed for its scent, but it has a lovely, non-irritating fragrance," notes associate beauty editor Alyssa Brascia. Beauty director Erin Jahns, associate beauty editor Maya Thomas, and associate editorial director Eliza Huber concur. This seaweed-infused body oil features a blend of nourishing ingredients that enhance skin elasticity while softening and firming.

Pros: Non-irritating, fresh scent, no transfer

      Cons: Pump can get stuck

Key ingredients: Undaria seaweed, white lupin, botanical oil blend

Fragrance notes: Grapefruit, lime, cypress, mango mandarin

Customer review: "I have been using the OSEA body oil for a year. My skin is usually dry, but this keeps it soft without feeling tight. Best of all, I don’t feel oily!"

Best Vanilla Scent: Phlur Vanilla Skin Body Oil

      Phlur

      Vanilla Skin Body Oil

Jahns and associate fashion editor Nikki Chwatt are big fans of Phlur's Vanilla Skin Body Oil, and I must say, I am too. Although I haven’t tried the oil yet, I did use the brand's deodorant in the same scent and loved it right away. The vanilla fragrance is rich and refined without being overly sweet. Whenever I wore it, I'd receive compliments, making the transition to body oil a no-brainer.

Pros: Quick absorption, delightful aroma, easy to layer

Cons: Some find the scent too subtle

Key ingredients: Skin-mimicking lipids, floral oils, vitamin C oil

Fragrance notes: Pink pepper, pink apple, sugar crystals, lily, jasmine petals, cashmere wood, benzoin, vanilla, sandalwood, agarwood

Customer review: "This is my go-to body oil right after a shower. It absorbs quickly, doesn’t leave a greasy feeling, and smells incredible! I love it!"

Best Citrus Scent: NERRĀ The Dry Body Oil, Citrus Wave

      NERRĀ

The Dry Body Oil - Citrus Wave

For those who enjoy a fresh, citrus-forward aroma, this dry body oil from Nerra is an excellent choice. "Nerra body oils are consistently impressive, but especially Citrus Wave," says beauty editor Kaitlyn McLintock. The formula comprises eight botanical oils rich in vitamins and omegas for an outstanding moisturizing experience.

      Pros: Lightweight, rapidly absorbs

      Cons: Pricey

Key ingredients: Rosehip oil, hibiscus seed oil, argan oil, coco caprylate

Fragrance notes: Lemon, sweet orange, cardamom, grapefruit, spearmint, jasmine, lily of the valley, musk, cedarwood

Customer review: "I absolutely adore the Citrus Wave scent. Not only does it feel fantastic and leave my skin glowing, but the fragrance is divine. My husband even pointed out that it has become his favorite scent. I'd rate it a 10!"

Best Floral Scent: CYKLAR Naked Neroli Vitamin C Body Oil With Ectoin

      CYKLAR

      Naked Neroli Vitamin C Body
