Lustrous Skin with an Elegant Fragrance: These Aromatic Body Oils Represent Subtle Luxury.

As editors, we evaluate numerous (and I mean a lot of) products. It's arguably my favorite aspect of the job, and I enjoy recommending the best beauty selections to family, friends, and everyone else in between. However, I must admit there are still a couple of product categories where my experience is lacking. One such category is body oils. I have extremely dry skin and usually prefer thick butters and hydrating creams to keep my skin smooth throughout the year. So, when it was time to explore some options, it was only logical to consult my fellow editors on which ones were worthy investments. Typically, when I reach out to my colleagues, I receive a diverse assortment of suggestions. However, this time was a bit different. To my surprise, several editors from Who What Wear highlighted very similar brands of body oils, which I've now added to my wish list. (Clearly, I have some research to catch up on!) If you're also considering trying your first body oil, I thought I'd share the top 7 that received multiple endorsements. Keep scrolling to see their favorites.

Best Overall: OSEA Undaria Algae Body Oil
OSEA
Undaria Algae Body Oil
Our top pick received endorsement not from one or two, but four of our editors. "This isn't heavily advertised for its scent but it has a beautiful, non-irritating fragrance," states associate beauty editor Alyssa Brascia. Beauty director Erin Jahns, associate beauty editor Maya Thomas, and associate editorial director Eliza Huber all concur. This seaweed-infused body oil combines a variety of nourishing ingredients to enhance elasticity while softening and firming the skin.
Pros: Non-irritating, fresh scent, no transfer
Cons: Pump can occasionally get stuck
Key ingredients: Undaria seaweed, white lupin, botanical oil blend
Fragrance notes: Grapefruit, lime, cypress, mango mandarin
Customer reviewer: "I've been using the OSEA body oil for a year. My skin has always been dry, and this leaves me feeling soft without any tightness from dryness. Best of all, I'm not oily!"
Best Vanilla Scent: Phlur Vanilla Skin Body Oil
Phlur
Vanilla Skin Body Oil
Jahns and associate fashion editor Nikki Chwatt rave about Phlur's Vanilla Skin Body Oil, and honestly, I'm on board too. While I haven't tested the oil, I have tried the brand's deodorant in the same scent and fell in love with it instantly. The vanilla is rich and sophisticated, not overly sweet. I always received compliments whenever I wore it, so trying this body oil is a no-brainer.
Pros: Absorbs quickly, great fragrance, easy to layer
Cons: Some find the scent too subtle
Key ingredients: Skin-mimicking lipids, floral oils, vitamin C oil
Fragrance notes: Pink pepper, pink apple, sugar crystals, lily, jasmine petals, cashmere wood, benzoin, vanilla, sandalwood, agarwood
Customer reviewer: "This has become my go-to body oil right after showering. It absorbs quickly, doesn’t leave a greasy residue, and smells amazing! I love this stuff so much!!"
Best Citrus Scent: NERRĀ The Dry Body Oil, Citrus Wave
NERRĀ
The Dry Body Oil - Citrus Wave
If you prefer a fresh, citrus-based fragrance, this dry body oil from Nerra is perfect for you. "Nerra's body oils are fantastic, but Citrus Wave is especially good," states beauty editor Kaitlyn McLintock. The formula contains eight botanical oils that are rich in vitamins and omegas for a truly moisturizing experience.
Pros: Lightweight, fast-absorbing
Cons: On the pricier side
Key ingredients: Rosehip oil, hibiscus seed oil, argan oil, coco caprylate
Fragrance notes: Lemon, sweet orange, cardamom, grapefruit, spearmint, jasmine, lily of the valley, musk, cedarwood
Customer reviewer: "I absolutely love the Citrus Wave scent. Not only does it feel wonderful and gives my skin a lovely glow, it smells heavenly. My husband noticed the fragrance and said it's his new favorite. I give it a 10!"
Best Floral Scent: CYKLAR Naked Neroli Vitamin C Body Oil With Ect
