      As I have matured, my tolerance and willingness to accept uncomfortable wearable items have diminished. In the past, I would wear bras that squeezed too tightly and thongs made from irritating, synthetic materials designed to mimic delicate lace, which always required readjustment. It was not enjoyable, but with a limited budget, it was challenging to fill a drawer with genuinely satisfying lingerie. Now that I’m in my 30s, I’ve stopped compromising on undergarments, which means I’ve almost entirely forsaken lace in favor of silk lingerie. Consequently, my view of lingerie has transformed entirely, becoming pleasurable instead of sometimes distressing and painful. Silk feels natural against the skin and is inherently soft, serving as a perfect barrier that not only feels great but also looks attractive.

      I realize I’m not the only one experiencing this shift. Gradually, I’ve begun to notice silk lingerie being worn by all my style-conscious friends and people I follow online. Brands like Araks and Fleur du Mal are now favorites, along with more upscale options such as Carine Gilson and Kiki de Montparnasse. Even high-fashion labels are embracing this trend, with silk bras making their debut at the fall/winter 2025 shows for Miu Miu and Valentino. Celebrities like Gracie Abrams and Olivia Rodrigo have been spotted wearing silk bras and sets from Araks, joining creators like Laura Jung, Courtney Trop, and Molly Blutstein. The appeal lies in the luxuriousness of these bras and panties, transforming every day (and night) into something special, which can significantly alter your mindset. Those small changes can lead to substantial differences over time, so believe me. Eliminating items that we previously tolerated in favor of wearing pieces that offer comfort and confidence is worth the additional investment.
