We Prepared with Victorian Psycho Star Evie Templeton for Her Cannes Debut—Check Out the Behind-the-Scenes Photos.

Evie Templeton is truly experiencing a significant style moment. After captivating viewers on the set of Netflix’s Wednesday as the quirky Agnes DeMille, the 17-year-old rising star has transitioned from the unique, shadowy corridors of Nevermore to the glamorous, sun-soaked realm of high fashion at the French Riviera. Just yesterday, she marked her debut at the Cannes Film Festival, where she graced the red carpet for a screening of her upcoming comedy-horror film, Victorian Psycho. The actress effortlessly merged classic sophistication with a unique flair—and fun accessories—affirming her position as an exciting new face to keep an eye on, both on screen and at red carpet events. To achieve her stunning festival debut, Templeton collaborated with renowned celebrity stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray. Together, they curated two outfits that adhered to the "Cannes daytime chic" dress code, featuring designs from Rodarte and Miu Miu that subtly acknowledged the film's gothic romance influences. Below, Templeton shares insights about the inspiration behind her ethereal outfits, lessons learned from co-star Jenna Ortega, and the "beautifully bonkers" journey of adapting a cherished psychological horror novel for the screen.

How did you and your stylist, Rebecca Corbin-Murray, decide on these looks? Why are they ideal for Cannes? The process was wonderfully collaborative—as it always is—with Rebecca. Given that it was a daytime premiere, the dress code was "Cannes daytime chic," and I aimed for a look that was both youthful and classic, yet felt authentically me. We opted for two distinct looks to capture the best of both worlds, selecting an amazing Rodarte white dress for the photocall, which felt like the quintessential summer outfit, complete with a collar that paid homage to the film's Victorian theme. For the actual red carpet, we chose a Miu Miu piece adorned with a little black bow and embellished jewels. It felt so fresh and adorable! Miu Miu has always resonated with me, and I adore their aesthetic. Participating in Cannes on behalf of [Victorian Psycho] while wearing such incredible designers has been a dream come true.

Can you tell me about your glam and accessories, and how they complemented your look? For the Rodarte outfit, I accessorized with a black choker to complete the look (another nod to the film!), which gave a chic, gothic vibe. I also made sure to include a sleek black pair of sunglasses to keep it classic. Black strappy heels were the perfect choice for both outfits, and on the red carpet, I wore exquisite pearl drop earrings that matched the embellishments on my dress. I collaborated with the amazing team of Bjorn Krischker and Sara Hill for my hair and makeup. We opted for a simple, dewy look that felt youthful, with just a hint of eyeliner to make my eyes pop. My hair was styled with subtle waves, creating a perfect summer look, making it an ideal fit for my first Cannes experience.

How faithfully does the movie adapt the Victorian Psycho book? What do you think readers will appreciate about its translation onto the screen? I had read Virginia Feito's book before being cast in the project, so witnessing the pages come alive was truly special. Translating her brilliant writing into a film was an honor. I was surrounded by such a dedicated cast and crew during filming. I can't wait for audiences to delve into the film and immerse themselves in the wonderfully wild world we created.

What have you learned about acting from Jenna Ortega on the set of Netflix's Wednesday? Do you have any memorable behind-the-scenes stories about working with her? Working on Wednesday with so many inspiring people has taught me an immense amount. Jenna is like an older sister to me, and collaborating with her to develop the relationship between our characters was an absolute joy! One of my funniest memories is from the body swap episode, where I handed her a coffee cup, and she accidentally knocked it from my hands. During one take, it flew up and landed on someone's head, which had everyone cracking up.

How would you describe your passion for fashion? Where do you draw your fashion inspiration from? What brands do you hope to wear or collaborate with in the future, and why? Fashion has always fascinated me, and I'm continuously learning about it as I find my personal style. I love how fashion can transform you both on screen and at events like this. I felt incredibly lucky to wear Rodarte and Miu Miu in Cannes—two dream brands! Miuccia Prada is someone I deeply admire, so wearing a Miu Miu dress for the red carpet was a huge honor. I would love to collaborate with Dior, Chanel, Loewe, Balenciaga, and of course, Miu Miu again!

Rebecca also styles celebrities like Florence Pugh, Simone Ashley, and Lily James. Do you have a couple of favorite looks she's created for these stars in the past? What do you
