I Recently Returned From Miami Swim Week: Here Are 8 Must-Know Trends for It-Girls
I've just returned from Paraiso Miami Swim Week 2026, and I'm already feeling nostalgic about experiencing the emergence of trends up close. Now in its 22nd year, Paraiso Miami Swim Week featured brands that are shaping the resort and cruise styles for 2027. Best friends Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman conducted a master class on accessorizing during the Monday Swimwear presentation, showcasing silk headscarves, floppy hats, spacious totes, woven clutches, straw hats, and double collars... Believe me, I could keep listing these!
If you look past the dazzle of Fae, Oséree, and Oceanus, you'll discover the silhouettes and motifs that fashion enthusiasts will be sporting continuously. Melissa Odabash's and Shan's pieces, presented in Pantone's Color of the Year, will become key elements in your summer wardrobe.
Grace Ann Nader, from Love Thy Nader, walked twice for the Australian swimwear brand Fae, while Jenn Tran from The Bachelorette season 21 showcased for Kulani Kinis, in a presentation by Sojos Eyewear. For those of you who are fans of Dance Moms, former cast member Kendall Vertes made a bold statement for the Miami-based brand Luli Fama. Not to forget, Megan Thee Stallion closed the show with her line, Hot Girl Summer—a look that has stayed on my mind long after.
Scroll down for insights on the cool-girl trends I observed in real time during Paraiso Miami Swim Week 2026—along with celebrity sightings that left me speechless, editor-approved brands worth your attention, and tips for snagging the trending looks immediately.
Spoiler alert: Animal print and sheer silhouettes have my endorsement, but that’s all I’ll disclose for now. Below, check out eight It-girl swimwear trends you should be aware of this summer.
**Untamed Prints**
The verdict is still out on jelly sandals, and balloon pants have their pros and cons. However, animal print is a definitive trend, particularly zebra print. The classic black-and-white versions were present on the runway, alongside vibrant alternatives in fuchsia and lime.
Oséree showcased a spectacular sequin-embroidered outfit, while the miniskirt and triangle bikini top inspired me to keep track of every animal-themed design. Fae sent Nader down the runway in a coral zebra bikini set adorned with a gold-tone waist chain. Below, find the zebra-print swimwear I'm coveting this summer, along with some notable leopard and snakeskin selections.
- The Attico: Cutout Zebra-Print Swimsuit
- Youzey: The Kensington Scarf
- ZARA: Animal Print Triangle Bikini Top
- MANGO: Animal-Print Halter Swimsuit
- ZARA: Animal Print Knotted Pareo
- Cinq à Sept: Frankie Thong Sandal
**Sheer Inspiration**
There's something appealing about a sheer outfit layered over a bikini after a day at the pool. This relaxed and affirming trend became my favorite to emerge from Paraiso Miami Swim Week 2026. Not only is it easy to pack, but it also offers an excellent way to enhance your wardrobe. Worn over swimwear, it acts as a cover-up, while it can stand alone as a dress meant for the red carpet.
Fae nailed the semisheer look with ombré trousers, Melissa Odabash showcased elegance with a knit halter, and Shan garnered applause with a sheer lace dress. I suggest embracing these ethereal pieces and experimenting with intriguing base garments, such as an unexpected animal print or a two-tone bikini.
- H&M: Knitted Sleeveless Dress
- Staud: Stroll Coverup Pant
- Mango x ECKHAUS LATTA: Silk Overlay Dress With Bows
- ZARA: Tulle Lingerie Style Top
- Mango x ECKHAUS LATTA: Semi-Sheer Shirt With Beaded Belt
- Nordstrom: Organza Midi Pencil Skirt
**Two-Tone 'Kinis**
I tend to gravitate toward more understated bikini trends. While shimmers and glitters dominated this year's runways, the elegant two-tone bikini trend flew under the radar. This minimalist palette allows you to shine without being overpowering, and works well with accessories.
As seen on the runway, fringed totes, aviator sunglasses, headbands, and folded clutches complement these designs beautifully. Two-tone elements can manifest in various forms, such as color blocking, trimming, or a double bikini style, which was showcased by Oséree. It’s understated, luxe, and easy to recreate. Inspired by the Vogue México y Latinoamérica designer showcase, I delved into finding my favorite takes on this trend.
- Oséree: Lumiere Double Bikini
- ZARA: Combined Side Ruched Bikini Top
- Monday Swim
