Rose Previte is an energetic restaurateur and entrepreneur whose enthusiasm for food has shaped an impressive career. Her passion for cuisine and hospitality started at a young age; her first job involved working in her mother's Middle Eastern catering business and restaurant in Ohio. However, Previte also sought higher education and acquired a master’s degree in public policy, launching a career in local government.

A significant turning point occurred when her husband took on the role of NPR's Moscow correspondent. Moving with him led Previte to travel through over 30 countries in three years. These international experiences, coupled with her Lebanese Sicilian background, rekindled her culinary aspirations. Inspired by the diverse flavors and cultures she encountered, she decided to establish her own restaurant.

Previte independently secured funding, and in 2014, she opened her first restaurant, Compass Rose, in Washington, DC. This venture was just the start of her culinary journey. She subsequently opened more restaurants and a bar in DC, solidifying her influence in the city's dining landscape. With her vision expanding westward, she introduced the food hall Maydan Market in Los Angeles, showcasing her unique take on communal dining on the West Coast. Her entrepreneurial endeavors extend beyond just restaurants; she has written a cookbook, launched a consumer packaged goods brand, founded a wine company, and created the restaurant group No White Plates.
