      I’ve always had a fondness for a pair of "divisive" shoes. Whether it’s a chunky brogue or a garden clog endorsed by Jennifer Lawrence, if it’s a bit unattractive and unapologetically comfortable, I’m all in. However, as summer approaches, my adventurous shoe choices start leaning towards practicality. Usually, the only footwear I wear is a minimalist pair of flip-flops reminiscent of the ‘90s. For the last few years, they’ve been the unquestioned favorite of my warm-weather wardrobe, until today. While browsing through my social media, I came across the ultimate style icon, Alexa Chung, sporting some footwear I had previously overlooked: jelly shoes.

      Though I’ve admired the revival of jelly shoes from a distance, I had never fully embraced them. Whenever I saw a pair, they still felt too much like the dress-up shoes from my childhood rather than a surprisingly stylish choice.
