Vittoria Ceretti discusses Italian beauty, country music, and the wellness practice she firmly believes in.
Vittoria Ceretti has an array of titles: international supermodel, runway veteran with over 400 shows to her name, the last bride of Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, and a regular presence on high-fashion magazine covers. However, a country music enthusiast? That caught me off guard. "I’m heading to Wyoming this summer," she mentions on a July afternoon in NYC, "so a country playlist matches my mood." After seeing her glide down major runways with incredible grace, it's hard to picture her swaying to the sound of a fiddle, but the 28-year-old from Brescia, Italy, is full of surprises (she also has a peculiar interest in teeth, which she revealed in a 2024 Elle interview). I have a feeling she could effortlessly pull off haute couture paired with a cowboy hat.
In a move that's less surprising for someone of her caliber, Ceretti has recently been named the face of Armani Beauty, leading the campaign for its new Dolci Blushes. "Many people in Italy believe in the idea of 'less is more,' and I've really absorbed that from my background. When you think of [Giorgio] Armani and his belief in effortless beauty and modern elegance, it’s easy to see why working with Armani is such a fitting choice," she explains. Plus, she notes that blush is her top makeup essential.
Recently, she’s been using shade 5, a pinky mauve, on the high points of her cheekbones (a classic trick from makeup artists for enhancing lift), and she adds "just a little on the tip of my nose, especially in the summer." The blendable cream-to-powder formula provides subtle blurring and is perfect for layering, allowing for the option to either mix two shades or reapply throughout the day. "Take your time with it," Ceretti advises. "You can always add more on top. That’s why they’re so enjoyable and easy to experiment with."
Next, she dabs shade 4, a cinnamon brown, on her lips for a soft-focus effect and applies a bit of concealer under her eyes—though if she’s already wearing the iconic Luminous Silk Foundation, she likely doesn’t need it. "In the evening, perhaps a bit of Vertigo Mascara… I curl my lashes before and after applying mascara," she adds (which could be divisive!), "[Then] some eyebrow gel, lip balm, and I'm ready to go."
This "less is more" philosophy also applies to her skincare routine. Instead of listing a lengthy 10-step regimen, Ceretti swears by a cold shower in the morning to refresh her skin and kickstart her day. "This isn't just an Italian thing," she remarks about the age-old wellness practice. "[Additionally] getting natural vitamin D, jumping into the ocean, allowing saltwater on your skin, staying hydrated, and moisturizing both your body and face." While being landlocked in Wyoming may present some challenges (perhaps she could replace the saltwater with a lovely lake?), "la dolce vita" is really more about a mindset, anyway.
