      Kaia Gerber has had an eventful summer. The supermodel-turned-literary-lover-turned-actor has spent much of the season traveling worldwide to promote her role in Ryan Murphy's new steamy ‘80s teen thriller, The Shards. As a passionate reader, it's not unexpected to learn that she stars in the television adaptation of the book of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis. While many of her peers were sailing on yachts in the Mediterranean, Gerber took to the road in custom Prada and bespoke Valentino couture to promote the show. (This included a sit-down with Who What Wear UK during her time in London.) Now that it has become the most-watched series on Disney+, it seems Gerber is finally in line for the well-deserved downtime she needs. However, it seems there's no rest for the stylish, as Gerber chose one of her first days off in months to showcase an impressive autumn wardrobe. Out in Los Angeles with her boyfriend, fellow actor and nepo baby Lewis Pullman, she reminded us of the chilly season ahead by sporting an outfit that every chic dresser will want to replicate once the heatwave subsides.

      While dining out, the 24-year-old selected a classic combination of a black dress, trench coat, and black ballet flats. She accessorized her look with a cobalt blue Chanel flap bag and a chocolate brown scarf, representing two of the leading color trends from the past year. Although she founded Library Science, a book club focused on underrepresented voices and debut authors, her personal style cannot be described as overly academic. Truly, her outfit, with pumps and a beige trench coat, seems quintessentially Parisian, featuring essential pieces in any French woman's wardrobe. Earlier this year, Gerber collaborated with French footwear brand Repetto to create a collection of block-heel ballet flats inspired by dance and renowned German choreographer Pina Bausch. She may not have enjoyed a typical Euro Summer like many, but this season, it’s clear she's drawing inspiration from the finest styles across the continent.
