"Russian rap is the foundation" - an unexpected collaboration on a dance beat

      The electronic artist Kryli has recorded a collaborative track with the legend of Russian hip-hop, Loc-Dog. The dance track "Otvechayu" is an homage to all Russian rap and the work of Loc-Dog in particular, which is expressed in the lyrics of both artists' verses and in the musical production. "Otvechayu" samples a classic from the rapper's catalog, "Podgruzilo," a track that once had a huge impact on people's hearts and lyrics in Russian hip-hop. The premiere of the new release took place at the artists' solo concerts on August 12 and 14 in Moscow, where the song was heard for the first time by several thousand people.

      "I love Russian rap; I really grew up on it," Kryli said about the collaboration. "I adore the heroes of the 2000s and early 2010s, and my dream was to do a feature with one of them. That hero turned out to be Loc-Dog, and it's just amazing. I like that in this song I was able to succinctly express everything I wanted to say to him."

      "Nastya sent the demo almost immediately, and it really caught my attention," Loc-Dog shared about the song's creation process. "There was something truly unusual and inspiring about it. At that moment, I was in Thailand and literally wrote my verse in 20 minutes. So, the track was born very quickly and in one breath."

      Loc-Dog is an author and performer who is rightly considered one of the main figures in the Russian rap scene. He has gone from recognition in the underground to the status of a hip-hop star, free from time constraints and genre labels, and continues to sound relevant even in the most diverse styles. His music is a balance between fragile lyrics and aggressive beats, between nostalgia and contemporary sound.

      Kryli is an artist and social media star who combines dance music, subtle ironic narratives, and provocative visuals in her work. Kryli is having an extremely successful year, gathering hundreds of thousands of streams per day, performing across Russia as part of her solo tour and in headlining slots at the country's largest festivals. The artist regularly releases new music, blending dance electronics with rap, creating her unique style that has no analogs on our scene. Her rise has attracted the attention of not only a wide audience and many media personalities but also glossy publications, many of which have already written about Kryli and dubbed her music a new genre called "self-love pop." Her debut solo album "Ya iz Aikhala" was released on November 7, 2025, and has already surpassed 30 million streams.
