      Whenever someone asks for a nail polish recommendation or an alternative to gel nails, I've lost track of how many times I've suggested Essie Gel Couture nail polishes along with the Gel Couture Top Coat. This combination not only provides a gel-like appearance on the nails but also allows me to enjoy up to 10 days of wear without significant chipping by simply reapplying the top coat every few days. Honestly? It's my go-to for nail polish. Now that autumn is approaching, I'm eager to try some darker shades from the collection, and currently, Caviar Bar is my chosen navy hue for the new season.

      Essie's Gel Couture nail polishes are among the longest-lasting I've encountered, so I was excited to apply this color. I initially purchased it at the beginning of summer while browsing in a local drugstore, and I've been eager to wear it now that autumn is nearing.

      This is definitely one of my favorite shades from Essie. Caviar Bar is a deep, rich navy that gives an inky, dark look to the nails, paired with an amazing plumped and glossy finish that truly resembles gel polish at first sight. No gel lamp is needed; just apply two coats followed by the top coat (which is one of the best I've ever used). I especially adore this color on short nails, and it gives off a certain Parisian vibe.

      Essie suggests reapplying the top coat on the seventh day, but I prefer to refresh it every few days to extend the polish's longevity. Using this technique (and as long as I'm not too rough with my hands!), I'm usually able to maintain my manicure for around 10 days without significant chipping. Naturally, with a darker shade, any chips are more noticeable compared to a sheer or light pink. Still, I love this color and the final look. It’s the perfect navy shade to usher in the new season.
