Louis Vuitton Appoints Pat McGrath as Creative Director for Its Upcoming Makeup Line—Anticipate "Exquisite" Formulas
Our designer makeup offerings are about to expand significantly. Louis Vuitton has just unveiled La Beauté Louis Vuitton, the brand's inaugural makeup line, championed by the renowned makeup artist, Pat McGrath. That's correct—Dame Pat McGrath, DBE, will serve as the creative director for cosmetics at the brand. Her mission is to broaden "the House's vision, grounded in the essence of travel and artistic excellence." In an exclusive statement to Who What Wear, McGrath indicated that people can anticipate "exquisite formulas."
This isn't McGrath's first collaboration with the fashion house, as she has been responsible for makeup at numerous Louis Vuitton fashion shows over the past 20 years. "Having worked backstage at Louis Vuitton shows for over two decades, I am excited to now play such a pivotal role in launching La Beauté Louis Vuitton, a result of remarkable craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation," she mentioned in a press release. "The beauty realm encompasses far more than just products, and what we are crafting will elevate luxury beauty to a new dimension."
"My extensive experience as a makeup artist, creating major runway looks backstage at Louis Vuitton for nearly two decades has culminated in this moment," she added. "I am passionate about products and makeup. Having collaborated and consulted with numerous makeup brands in the past—including my own—leading the vision for makeup at Louis Vuitton feels entirely natural. Expect outstanding formulas, carefully designed packaging, and meticulous attention to detail." (We expect nothing less from a prestigious fashion house like Louis Vuitton and an equally distinguished makeup artist like Pat McGrath.)
According to WWD, the collection will feature 55 lipsticks (presumably in various shades and finishes), 10 lip balms, and eight eye palettes...for now, at least. We anticipate that the collection will grow and include new products in the future. The makeup line is scheduled for its official launch in autumn 2025. In the meantime, we will enjoy shopping Louis Vuitton fragrances and Pat McGrath's namesake makeup to keep us satisfied. Below is a selection of some of our favorites.
