Ruby Lyn acknowledges that she’s often tardy—but never for Chanel. During Paris Fashion Week, the highlight for the Gen Z social media influencer (and really, for nearly everyone visiting the French capital for the shows) is securing a coveted invite to witness models grace the runway at the Grand Palais. This Chanel show was notable as it was the first since Matthieu Blazy became Artistic Director, and while the industry is still eagerly anticipating the designer's debut at the 115-year-old French house, Lyn is incredibly delighted. The Chanel aesthetic embodies whimsy and fun, blending tulle, tweed, and her grandmother's vintage brooches seamlessly. This unique style is what Lyn shared with Who What Wear as her reason for loving it so much. "The entire show was just so beautiful, feminine, and elegant," she reflected during her social media takeover, now available on Who What Wear's Instagram. "It's something Chanel truly excels at." We connected with Lyn just as she was finalizing her look for the Chanel Fall-Winter 2025 runway show—clearly ready to capture everyone's attention.

Do you have any pre-show routines or rituals?

Attending a show can be nerve-wracking, so I definitely want to look and feel my best on show days. Cold-icing my face is essential, especially for morning shows. I need to be fed and hydrated! If I skip eating before a show, I become unbearable to be around, haha.

What’s the most touristy thing you allow yourself to do while in Paris for fashion week?

This season, we were fortunate with the weather; it was sunny and felt like spring for most of the week, so my friends and I spent a lot of time outside walking. The most touristy activity was sitting by the Eiffel Tower and reading on a sunny day. It was a lovely and peaceful moment away from the chaos of fashion week, and I highly recommend it.

Did you have a favorite look from the Chanel Fall/Winter 2025 collection? Any standout moments from the show?

I’m not sure I can narrow it down to just one look, but the show, in its entirety, felt very authentic to Chanel, portraying a refined and elegant woman. I loved everything from the sheer layered tulle dresses over complete outfits to the timeless tweed sets. The small details like the playful collars, playful shoes, oversized jewelry, brooches, and large clutches really captivated me. The collection left me utterly amazed.

Could you describe the outfit you wore to the show? What aspects of your ensemble feel exciting, fresh, and true to your style?

The outfit I donned to the show isn’t usually something I would select for myself. I was pleasantly surprised at how great I felt in a style that usually lies outside my comfort zone. However, this demonstrates how Chanel's craftsmanship can beautifully enhance any woman.

If you could take one Chanel item with you to a deserted island, what would it be?

Hmm... I would probably choose a stylish pair of vintage Chanel sunglasses.
